First off, members can access the place 24/7. That is amazing if your schedule only allows for movement at odd times.
The place has everything. A bunch of options for cardio: treadmills, bikes, elliptical, a rower. All the cable machines Iāve ever seen, and some I still donāt know about. Dumbbells up to 100 lbs, with double pairs for those up to 50 lbs for the busy times. Three squat racks and a Smith machine. A large turf area for all the choose-your-own-adventure workouts: medicine balls, stability balls, heavy rope, balance trainers, elastic bands, a sled, TRX, foam rollers, punching bag, and more. All of this stuff is also brand new. The leather on the machine seats isnāt even wrinkled yet. You can still feel a very light sheen of oil on some of the weight plates. If this sounds weird to you, donāt worry, it will be gone with use. :)
Even with all this stuff, the layout doesnāt feel cramped. The venue used to be a grocery store, so there is plenty of floor space and high ceilings. There are windows along one entire side for plenty of natural light and everything else is well lit.
The owner himself is there at times too and always willing to answer questions or chat. Weāll see if that pattern holds as business picks up but it adds a nice human touch when you get it. There are other friendly training staff as well, either for the occasional question or if you want ongoing personal training.
There are some 1-star reviews here saying things like ātake it off of Google Mapsā. Iām assuming they were from a time when the gym was still under construction. Google Maps must have somehow started showing the business and people were disappointed when they showed up but couldnāt work out. If youāre irked by such reviews, note that they arenāt applicable anymore - the place is very much...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreReally great location. More equipment options than most and multiples of popular items (cables, racks, etc). Tons of unique bar options and a full on deadlift platform. Plenty of high quality lighting and plate-fed machines, too. Their rower is the best I've tried and they have tons of hammer strength equipment.
The layout is fantastic, though I do wish the cable machine was in the mirrored area to evaluate form.
Some suggestions/possible concerns:
Although the rower is newer, it seems the cable is struggling to rebound fast enough. This causes slapping up and down onto other parts of the machine. Might just be a quirk of this one.
There's a lot of non-textured tile here which is an interesting choice for such a wet area. No biggie, though the cleaning company could put out cautionary signs when they've just mopped it to avoid member falls.
The shower stalls are great and relatively clean. Water is hot quick, though pressure is pretty low. The fixture mount in the first stall is barely holding on, and it seems the cleaning company ignores this fixture entirely (found several large hairs on and around it just after they finished in that room).
If you want to repair the roller shade in front of the stair stepper you may be able to use a clothing iron or hair straightener to bond the material together. It looks like it isn't cloth, so this should work.
Overall no complaints keeping me from visiting. Thanks for...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis place is Freaking AWESOME. I've been to most all of the Anytime and Snap Fitness Gyms between Stayton (east of Salem) up to Vancouver and this one is the best. There are more machines here than anywhere else. The dumbells go up to 100 lbs and there are 2 sets of them from 40 lbs on down. No other Gym has that. And there are enough plates for all the machines.
There are at least 11 different machines (for chest, back and legs) not counting the cable machines. There are 2 pulldown and cable row machines as well as about 12 other cable machines for all the body parts.
There is a HUGE area for stretching and crossfit activities along several bikes and treadmills for cardio workouts
The owner is almost always there during the week (which I've never seen anywhere else) and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable.
The bottom line is if you like a gym that's small enough to feel personal yet big enough that you can get in a workout without having to do much waiting this...
