I recently had the opportunity to have my truck serviced at this repair shop. Initially, they identified an issue that should have been covered under warranty. However, I was taken aback to find an additional charge of $1400.
Unfortunately, my disappointment grew when the problem resurfaced the very next day. Naturally, I became concerned and decided to investigate further by checking the diagnostic code using my high-end computer, only to find that it was the exact same issue and code.
Feeling somewhat frustrated, I returned to the repair shop, hoping for a proper resolution this time. To my surprise, they charged me nearly an additional $800, explaining that it was a different problem altogether. Given my extensive experience in the mechanic industry, I couldn't help but wonder if they might not have been entirely honest with their services. It's unfortunate, especially since I expected better from a reputable establishment.
As someone who ran my own mechanic shop for 20 years, I have developed a keen eye for transparency and genuine service. This situation has genuinely disappointed me, and I had hoped for a smoother and more trustworthy experience with this repair shop, but sadly, that wasn't the case. I believe open and honest communication is vital in any service industry, and I hope they can improve their practices in the future to avoid similar situations for other customers. I wish I had taken the time to read the reviews before visiting this place. Now, I hope sharing my experience can be helpful to anyone planning to go there. Please be aware and consider my insights before making...
Read moreJust picked up my truck from Morin Diesel. Got down the road to DQ in Portland, Ct, and it caught on "FIRE"... I had to have the Fire Dept. Put it out. I called very upset and talked to the owner who basically told me that it wasn't his fault. I had the injectors and the fuel filter replaced according to my invoice. I explained this to him and tried telling me that a no liquids can catch on fire on a hot engine... Which is completely false. I paid over a thousand dollars to these people to fix my truck and I would think that before releasing it to me that they would have checked it for leaks and road worthiness. The owner was rude and basically told me to go pound sand, and If I wanted to do anything about it, to take him to court. This was the rudest customer service I have ever encountered not to mention that he didn’t care one way or another that a vehicle that just left his shop after being worked on caught fire. After telling him that I was Veteran and I hope he didn't treat all of his customers that way, he replied who gives a "F" what you were or are. I have read a couple of his replies on here and I want to squash this before he replies. "YES" the truck sat there for a few months while I paid off the bill. However he assured me that everything was good to go with the truck, so I took his word for it. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone for repairs. I am having the truck towed to a real Diesel shop and I will update this post with the findings. As Morin Diesel refused to even drive 2 miles down the road...

Had truck in a different local shop. Could not diagnose problem even after narrowing it down to one specific injector and/or injector connector. Basically threw his hands up and said "I can't hold up a bay for this job." "It's running right now." Truck broke again during a snow storm (it's a plow truck). Called Morin at 11:30am, while it was snowing, and spoke to Jesse. He asked how soon I could get it there. He would move some stuff around to get it in, but no promises on part availability. Thats the least that I could ask for from him! Truck was there at 12:45 with just the expectation of a diagnosis and crossing fingers as to it NOT being an injector (obvious $$ and wait for part). At 3:45 Jesse called me back to say that the truck was fixed...come and get it and put it back to work. The connector that the other shop looked at and showed as being "ok"...until you wiggled it (like a plow truck might do when shaking). Morin put a non stock connector together to get it to work quickly vs waiting for a stealership to get us a part. Truck has worked (plow and sand/salt) another 8 hours since getting it back! Rock ON!!! Thanks a TON to...
