Nam-Quang Temple — Local services in Portland

Chùa Nam Quang is the most serene and peaceful place in Portland area! The Spring is my favorite time here with the blooming demand your full attention.

They have regular services in Vietnamese weekly on Sunday, starting at 10am, follow by the always delicious vegetarian three courses meal at 12pm FREE for anyone attending. This is a communal meal enjoyed in silence; which what continues to draw me here!

The temple is spacious and inviting! Ongoing activities to the left side of the temple are making it more pleasant with beautiful walking paths with logs. I was told by the keeper it will be completed by June 2025.

It's well kept both inside and outside. I love walking in the courtyard and the surrounding areas before and after the service and the silence communal meal. Its lovely and convenient location provides a relaxing atmosphere for contemplating and rejuvenating from the daily hustle.

This was the Lunar New Year Eve 2023. Some people brought the whole families to celebrate. The place was a very friendly and crowded.
