Stone Barn Brandyworks — Local services in Portland

Visited with my wife & adult children. The distillery has a wide variety of brandies & liquors & a limited selection of whiskies. The distiller told us that what is available at any given time can vary widely based on what fruits may be in season. Today, there were sweet spirits, & those with a less sweet taste, like grappa.

One of the distillers conducted the tasting. He was knowledgeable & articulate in explaining his process & giving direction about what each of us might like based on individual tastes, as well as suggesting the best order in which to taste or selections.

In a town of much liquor, this is some of the best. I was first sold on the famous Nocino at my neighborhood farmers market, and since then it's been a race to attempt to taste everything Stone Barn makes... but that is hard to do. They somehow manage to maintain both variety and quality in an amazing way, especially for being such a wee place.

It's the one distillery tasting room I've visited more than twice and specifically taken guests to enjoy. We purchased the Biggs Junction apricot brandy. We found it at a liquor store in Salem Oregon. We tasted it and said, “WHAT IS THAT TASTE IN MY MOUTH !” Omg!
