We brought our friends from out of town here on the weekend. A few weeks earlier we had attended a wine tasting event where we were free to drop in. At the time, the tasting room/bottle shop manager encouraged us to come back as they were expanding their weekend hours. However, on our second visit we didn’t make it more than 10 feet into the parking lot when that same manager aggressively burst through the door to rudely inform us that we would need a reservation to enter the nearly empty tasting room and that we would need to come back tomorrow. Each member of our party of four agreed that her tone was borderline hostile and ruined what had otherwise been a pleasant day. Requiring a reservation is fine but we arrived an hour before the stated closing hour of 6PM and the sign on your building literally says bottle shop/tavern. Our friends from out of town wanted to purchase several bottles that we believed were only available at the winery based on our recent experience and because we hadn’t seen them in stores around Portland. There was no chance in that happening after we were rudely accosted by your employee. As other recent reviews on Google have noted this is not an isolated occurrence. You are certainly entitled to run your business as you see fit, however, there are plenty of other people excellent wineries in the region and we will be patronizing those in the future. I suggest anyone else reading this review do the same and avoid...
Read moreWine, snacks and cool jazz on Wednesday. Visiting from out of town, a local friend suggested we check out the Wednesday evening trio that was playing. Parking is a bit of a hit or miss, but we were lucky, arrived an hour early to an empty place, so we had choice of seats and parking. Within 30 minutes place was getting crowded. The wine are made in house, so there are wine barrels all around. The interior can feel a bit cold with the wood picnic style seating and the cement floor. Some of the snack items were interesting and some were just so so. I had the tinned octopus that frankly just tasted like canned tuna, so I was disappointed. The dumplings on the other hand were delicious.Wines all tended to be on the sweeter side, which I am not a huge g=fan off, but that is personal preferences. The music this night was strait ahead jazz, so much in the BeBop category and being a small intimate venue, there was no need for amplification from the sax, drums and bass. Definitely worth a try if looking for a nice place to have some snacks, a couple of glasses of wine and some...
Read moreOlga, the owner was such a great host. She gave us all the info about the wine, poured three wines at a time and left the bottles at the table so we could remember what each one was. The wine labels are a work of art and the wine is delicious. The tasting room is super cute and in the city which is nice when you want a quick drive and yummy wine. None of the wine is crazy expensive and everything we had was super good. We even got a bonus pour of a sparkling and loved it, bought 2 bottles of that, the Merlot and the 2022 Pinot Noir, which waived our tasting fee. The cheese plate was a nice added bonus to the tasting. Highly recommend checking out this Winery and tasting room...
