Poteau Pawn & Gun Shop — Local services in Poteau

Two experiences on opposite ends of the spectrum. First was good: broad selection of ammo, guns, and reloading stuff. Second was pretty awful: it became glaringly clear they do not know federal law concerning firearms sales.

BATFE has clearly stated in Ruling 2001-5 that multiple forms of identification may be used to establish both identity and residence. I tried explaining this, since I have both a drivers lisence and CCL which meet the 2001-5 requirements, but they would hear none of it. Classic example of "cannot be reasoned out what has not been reasoned in." BATFE has been contacted, and I will update as appropriate.

It would be nice to support small, local businesses, but not at the price of blatant ignorance of federal law, especially in the name of upholding...
