I was advised that they would give out the food bank at this place, but you would have to arrive before 7::00am. We got to the place at 6:40am ,and the flag man directed us to the 5 row of vehicles, which held like 10 or more vehicle in a line. I was also advised that the distribution only took 2 hours to do,from 7am to 9am,and they be done. By 9am,we were still sitting in our own spots, with 12 rows of vehicles,as far as the eye could see,and the gate doors had been shut close,in 98 degree weather, and no way to leave or be able to take your vehicle out of there period! On top of all these issues, there were no restrooms in sight, the nearest store was across a fast moving highway, with no crosswalks at all,and the water we had brought had already been drunk, and we were thirsty, wanting to go to a restroom, and sweating bullets off and on,as we turned on the truck, repeatedly to keep cool, for 4 hours. The worst part was,my mother was on oxygen, and the machine only lasts 4hours,and about to go out. The sun, left me with a sun burn on my left leg, even though,I tried to cover the windshield with my jacket,to block the sun. Least of all,my back was hurting so bad, since I can not sit for hours, with a bad back. My head was hurting, since the extreme heat aggravates my nerve damage, and no way for me or my 95 year old mother to walk far, much less across a very busy highway,on a walker,at turtle speed. I called the one that invited us to complain, and he said, they had a suggestion box. Right after that call, the line started to move, and luckly, right before my mother's machine ran out of juice. It was not a pleasant situation being in a health Hazzard position, and also being exposed to 4 hours of a woman's filthy and gossip mouth, that spoke evil of everyone and everything around her and that town, nonstop, and laughing as it was so funny to belittle all mankind, period! If I had to give one example of a person working hard to earn hell,it be her. Warning!: now you know if you go to the poteet feast food bank, take plenty of water, buy sun visors for your windshields, a portable fan to blow, while your vehicle is turned off, make a lunch bag,for who knows how long you'll be stuck there. Buy ear pluggs,to shut out the devils mouths. Buy,adult pull ups,for its safer than getting run over by a vehicle on a high speed highway, and having no restrooms at all. Most of all, have your cells and other machines fully charged, for you never know, what may happen ,while your trapped in lines with no way out for hours, just to get some free food,during...
Read moreThis festival ought to be ashamed of itself. They charge 20 for parking, 25 for each person over 12 to get in and charge separately for food and the rides. We went today paid the parking and walked up to the gate and decided to turn back around. The parking attendants were so polite (God Bless Them) that they gave us our parking fee back and sent us on our way. We then decided to park on the street and go vendor hopping for free outside the fair, which was much better. All the same fair foods outside the gates without an entry charge. We would have spent hundreds of bucks going to this small fair had we decided to pay that type of money. I have six flags tickets that cost less then what we were about to pay for this whole ordeal. I do not recommend this to anyone that is money cautious and cares about the bigger picture. How about you make this fair affordable for families that don't want to break open their piggy banks. We will never go back to this place. We would much rather spend the money at a real theme park or water park. More bang...
Read moreI was so excited to go only to find out there were little to no strawberries at the 2025 STRAWBERRY FESTIVAL. It was my first time back in years and I always remembered going with my dad and leaving with pallets of strawberries. This year, we had to ask around âwhere are the strawberriesâ only to find them in a certain hidden spot and they were nearly overripe and rotten and they were asking $7 for a tiny basket! Such a let down. I brought a friend with me who had never been and he said how can this festival not have any strawberries? They should be everywhere!? So disappointing. Wasted my money, my time and my Saturday. I can go to a DRY DUSTY...
