
This is THE best gym/studio I’ve been to since looking for a place that is accepting, challenging, and welcoming of all skill levels and body types.
From weight loss, to eating plans, and overall health and wellness, this gym covers all my basic healthy-mama needs under one roof. The instructors care if you're hitting your individual goals, and are sometimes my biggest cheerleaders. When I hit a milestone, we all hit a milestone, and they celebrate along with me.
I've tried a handful of different types of gyms over the years, and just didn't feel that my full figured, out of shape, spunky personality fit in at those places. Since starting at Crossroads I've felt encouraged, welcomed, cared for, and just overall part of an amazing community. I'm losing weight, getting STRONGER, laughing, and having fun with new friends every day.
Crossroads offer a variety of workouts for all skill levels, and instructors always offer modifications to decrease or increase the intensity. Never have I felt like I couldn't finish a workout because it was "over my head" or just too advanced. Every work out is challenging and achievable, regardless of your skill level.
The class options are well thought out, and the freestyle music playlists are SO fun. The different class options are perfect for training my body to get back into pre-baby (ok, pre-college) shape!

Read moreI "met" this gym and the owner, Sam, over the summer, while joining in on a water zumba class. I absolutely loved the class, and Sam is a phenomenonal instructor. I, nervously, decided to join December 1st. I am not a Powell local, I had no one to go with me, I had never taken group classes (besides water zumba), and the only person I knew was Sam. I still feel like a newbie, only 2 weeks in, but I am so happy I decided to join. The instructors have greeted me with open arms, the other members are very friendly and welcoming, and I never feel ashamed for needing breaks. In fact, one of the instructors told me it was ok if I couldn't keep up. We are all here to better ourselves, and maybe next time you will be able to do just a little bit more, and then a little more, and then eventually you'll get there! I have now attended a majority of the amazing variety of classes, and I still modify, but I've never thought to myself, I don't belong here. Read moreI found out about Crossroads Fitness a few months ago from a friend taking the Aqua Zumba class during the summer. My first class with Sam was so much fun! Her enthusiasm and encouragement during the classes makes it easy to keep going. Before finding Crossroads Fitness, I found working out a chore and had to drag myself to go to workout classes. Crossroads Fitness has so many fun classes that I am motivated to keep going on a regular basis (especially with dancing in Zumba). Crossroads Fitness offers a good variety of classes too, so you don't find yourself getting stuck in a rut and can try new classes. It is definitely a judgment-free zone where the instructors and your classmates want you to go at a pace/intensity that is comfortable to you. They provide modifications so you can make particular workout moves easier or harder depending on your comfort level.
