As a previous shift manager at this Bojangles', and as a local whom last ordered large Bo-Rounds from here and they got my order wrong, giving me a small Bo-Rounds. The product was old and stale. I will be OK with waiting. Trust me! Not only that, but every time that I have come thru, which has been maybe twice a year because of my expectations. I promise you that other people are also OK with waiting - or at least being informed.
I read another complaint on here that said they were told their chicken would be done in 15 minutes, but took much longer. It takes 15 minutes to cook the chicken. This doesn't count the time for any other step, or if a customer came in. As a suggestion, always over guess your times when speaking to customers. Then take your over-estimate, and give yourself 5 more minutes. Worst case scenario they just don't want to wait and expected you guys to have their chicken cooked in 3 minutes or less anyway during slow hours.
Another recommendation that I suggest, is that your employees that has been there for at least 1 year become ServSafe certified, because some of them are NOT safe.
I'm afraid there's no bringing this location back to life without offering your regular employees a regular living wage. $15.00 TO START!!! This is 2024 NOT 2014. You will get much more 'ready to work' employees who are willing to go the extra mile to bring this place back to life.
Veteran employees of 1 year should be given the opportunity from there employer to receive a ServSafe certificate, which will only do the franchise good if the employee's are being treated well!
Also, offer insurance! Change the 'scenery' if you will and you might be surprised how your investment turns out.
Get you a good crew trained up and well educated on food safety, run some specials, get the 'hype' back up. Call the local radio stations and ask to put an ad out.
This Bojangles' does not have to be this way. I won't release where I work now or how much I make, but working at Cookout in 2016 I was making $13/h. Working at Wild Wing Cafe in 2017 I was making $15h, Holiday Inn as a cook I was making $16.50/h, Chesapeakes West they offered me $18/h to stay. And I am a 30 year old who has never gotten a degree or diploma in my life.
If you want all the money with no work, then you are playing the wrong game. Stop playing the role of a manager and playing with peoples livelihoods and start playing the lottery.
Another recommendation is to start out lower than average, but promise a higher pay at the end of their probation period so you don't break their spirits before they really get to work. Not all employees want to work though, they just want the free money. And that is why you start out low. Explain to them in detail during their 60 day probation period what they need to improve on.
I would never come to this Bojangles to work here for a main income job, because you guys can't afford me at my fullest, and definitely wouldn't appreciate me enough as a worker. But I would possibly consider volunteering to work part time for a reasonable pay to tidy things up. But not if you are low-balling your staff with their own pay! Underpaid workers will simply never care to improve because they don't get paid enough to care. It is not rocket science.
Either someone is being really greedy and cheap, or a lot of someone's has not been trained properly to run a QSR.
If $15/h is out of reach, then start at $12/h. If you can not do that either, then just shut it down. You will never run a good business if you can't keep up with...
Read moreThe food here is good; the same as all Bojangles. However the service is the worst of any place in the area. Every time I go to this location, I promise myself that I will never go back. On this occasion, I had taken my elderly mother to a funeral and one way home she wanted to get food to take home. Since it was such a terrible rainy night and this place was so convenient, I relented and tried it - one more time. Bad decision! I tried the drive thru, but was not able to get decided answered/info, decided to go in. A family was ordering when I entered. When they were finished, the cashier walked away and started helping prepare boxes for the drive thru. A few minutes later, he came to take my order. I said I wanted the $3.49 combo. He said it was no longer available. So I ordered the 2 PC dark w/pintos & a Cajun filet sandwiches w/fries. No drinks. No other customers came in. The four make employees were make efforts to fill drive through orders. The plates of food for the family in front if me were prepared but left on the counter by the sides. They were left there for about 10 minutes until one if the employees asked why they were sitting there. The answer was they were waiting on 2 buttered biscuits and they were left there. My filet sandwiche & fries were bagged and places in front of me. Then a box of some items were delivered to the family in front of me along with the plates from the back counter. When customer asked about their business, they were the they would be delivers to the table. Several more boxes were filled and delivered to the drive thru. Then I was asked what I was waiting on. I said 2pc dark with pintos. He went to get the pintos and found they were all gone. He started fussing at a younger employee for letting the bin get emptied. Then asked me if I would choose a different side. However they were also out of Mac & cheese, green beans, and fries. I said I would take rice. Then noticed my ticket also listed a sandwiche. I said it had been sitting here 20 minutes. So he yelled back for a new to be prepared. I said, no I just wanted to get out of there. He completed my dark meat meal box at the same time someone from the back called out that my new sandwiche was ready. So guy called for hot fries which were delivered very quickly. All my order was handed to me with an apology along with the excuse of they were just really busy. I repeat no one came in after me! I returned to my car 45 minutes after I entered the restaurant. I will NEVER go back and will advise others...
Read moreOn two different occasions, I ordered a simple chicken biscuit through the drive through. The first time, I was asked to pull forward and wait 5 minutes for it because they had to cook it. I waited 15 before parking and going in complaining about my wait at which time the biscuit was made immediately. They had forgotten about me waiting outside. The second time, I ordered a simple chicken biscuit and was told 3 minutes on the biscuit and was asked to pull forward, so I waited and waited and waited. While waiting I watched the truck that was in front of me return through the drive through twice. I'm not sure why, but he seemed aggravated. After waiting 10-15 minutes again, I backed up to the window and parked until finally someone came to the window and said "they just dropped in the chicken" at which time I requested a refund, which no one in there knew how to do. They had to call someone, which took forever. In addition, the inside and especially the restroom is nasty. I will not be going back there. They do not know what they're doing. My recommendation is if they ask you to pull forward and...
