Save A Lot — Local services in Prestonsburg

The sign out front says Save A Lot is a "hometown grocer" and they are independently owned and operated. The chain has about 720 stores across 32 states. Opened here in Prestonsburg in 2023, it took over the Just Save Foods that had been here since 2019.

The store manages to compete with the neighboring Walmart because the Walmart doesn't have groceries. All of that is here, from deli to dairy, from butcher to frozen. I purchased ribs from them, but when I went to cook them, they smelled rancid. I called to inquire about a possible exchange due to the unpleasant odor. However, despite the ribs being perfectly packaged, I was informed that an exchange or refund was not possible without the original receipt. While I understand their policy to a certain extent, I am disappointed that they couldn't accommodate the situation, especially since I was willing to resolve the issue.
