Aldi's is a great store with a good selection and great prices...a good place to go for staple items and the money you save makes it worth the trip for people on a budget. If you have more money than time, it's not exactly a convenient place to shop; it's for people with more time than money. Bring your own bags or boxes (or buy bags at the register) and bring a quarter for a shopping carriage. When I'm finished shopping, I try to leave my quarter in the carts for the next person or I give my carriage to someone. Alot of people do this, and being considerate of others is very cool, so pay it forward and someday when you have alot of shopping to do and forget your quarter you'll still get a carriage. I buy all of the basic stuff that I possibly can here to save $$$. However, I still go to Stop & Shop, Shaw's or Whole Foods for my fresh fruits, vegetables, seafood and/ or meats that I can't or won't buy here. I tried buying bacon wrapped Filet Mignon here and it was gross and fatty. However, I shop here often and the quality of everything else has...
Read moreAldi has the best grocery prices by far! The quality of their meats and dairy products are fantastic. The staff here are very kind.
I am rating this location low because the parking lot was covered in litter (I saw a dirty diaper). Within the store, the floors of the aisles had garbage lying around and lots of scuff marks everywhere. The restroom did not have a toilet paper dispenser just an industrial size roll of paper balanced on a handle and the soap dispenser was completely empty- unsettling because staff and customers will presumably be handling groceries with improperly cleaned hands. Compared to most ALDIs I have been to, the stock here is less consistent and a bit more disorganized on the shelf.
In the future, I think the store itself could benefit from a renovation, deep clean, and inclusion of self-checkout. Until then, I unfortunately will be avoiding this location as much as possible to go to one a few miles out of my way that is overall cleaner and...
Read moreIt's really hard for me to give any aldi a 4star rating because I love them so much. The reason this one gets a 4star is as follows: I frequently sing the praises of aldi &when I do I always say this: "The smith st location is the "worst" one. By worst what I really mean is that it's the smallest with the least amount of selection. Maybe they don't stock it the same as say the brand new Johnston location for demographic reasons? If so, that's very silly. Although that area of prov isn't necessarily considered the greatest, you actually have tons of very affluent families living within close proximity to that location on Smith st. The workers there are hands down my favorite of any of the aldi...but the store itself needs to be cleaner with a better selection of food. Like I said, it being the worst aldi isn't saying much because I'll still shop there over almost any OTHER store. Best prices. Best staff. Don't be scared off by the location....
