So I'm a girl who HATES to go out shopping. "They" say it's in every woman's DNA, but mine must have gotten mixed up because I can't stand it. I'd MUCH rather shop online. Especially now with what's going on with Walmart & their self checkout scam!!! HOWEVER, I actually had a GOOD experience yesterday at S&S on Manton Ave! The first thing I noticed when we pulled in the parking lot was a huge sign on the storefront saying that they LOWERED their prices throughout the whole store.... I was skeptical of course, because everywhere else is RAISING their prices. BUT, the sign was TRUE!! Of course things are still more expensive than they used to be, that's just how the world works. BUT, I DEFINITELY noticed that they DID LOWER THEIR PRICES THROUGHOUT THE STORE!! It's easy for me to notice things like that because I'm a creature of habit, so my grocery list is pretty much the exact same thing every week. The best part was finding the ICEBERG HEADS OF LETTUCE weren't $4.99 A PIECE anymore (THAT was SO ridiculous, I resorted to shredded bagged lettuce for awhile because I REFUSE to pay $5 for 1 head of ICEBERG LETTUCE)!!!! There were a LOT of great sales too!! When I cashed out, I was DEFINITELY EXTREMELY PLEASANTLY SURPRISED! My total trip this time was a little more than 1/2 of what I've BEEN paying for the past several weeks. I was expecting a total of at least $100, or close to that..... NOPE! The same stuff I've been getting & paying $80-$100 for, rang up THIS time around $66/$68!!! That is a HUGE difference in MY opinion because in today's world, EVERY PENNY MATTERS! So, to save $20-$40 is INCREDIBLE! I definitely recommend taking your next grocery trip to S&S so you can see for yourself that they REALLY DID LOWER THEIR...
Read moreI'm sure you're all aware of Stop & Shop. I have been using the Stop & Shop on Manton Ave. for many years. So, I was fairly comfortable there because I knew where everything was located. Lately they haven't been making improvements to their store. They're installing new refrigeration units, rearranging the location of some items to new aisles, which causes me a little confusion and frustration sometimes. I'm getting better remembering where things are now in the store. I'm sure once I'm completely familiar with where everything is I'm really going to enjoy the store. The only problem I have is I have a severe case of scoliosis and I have rods in my legs. Therefore, I'm in a lot of pain trying to navigate the aisles is rather painful to me. Not knowing where everything is located. Now that I'm getting better acquainted with where things are located in the store now, it has become a lot easier on me. However, the improvements in the store are very nice they have additional cold food areas and storage so additional frozen foods. All in all, I have always liked the store and employees. I am going to try the online shopping with the delivery especially for the winter and the pain I have trying to shop the whole store for the month. I will get back to you, as soon as I try it. Read moreI sent my sibling in there to do a return. It was past 7 o’clock the time that the service desk is closed, which I understand but as somebody who’s been at Stop & Shop before I can tell you that they are ALLOWED and ABLE to do returns on the registers themselves. As long as they are a CSS with CSS numbers. They are allowed and are able to do a return so then when I called back when my sibling finally arrived home and told me that they couldn’t do the return for her, I asked them “can you do returns on the register” he straight up said NO then, when I said, who told you that you can’t do return to our registers, he hung up the phone in my face. His name is Jeff. Then when I called back, a manager named, Kathy answered, and she said that you are allowed to do returns on the register, then her only solution was for me to come back 30 minutes before closing when I sent my sibling in there TWICE already to do a return and they couldn’t do it but NOW all of a sudden when I’m calling to complain… they can do it. At the end of the day JEFF should not be HANGING up the phone in customers faces !!! IF HE DIDNT KNOW HOW TO DO IT THEN YOU PUT THE CUSTOMER ON HOLD AND FIND OUT HOW TO OR FIND SOMEBODY THAT KNOWS HOW TO FIX OR SOLVE...
