I am a connoisseur of Chinese-American food and a lifelong Rhode Islander. Fu Ming stands out in a very special way. I've only dined-in, and I swear I spiritually ascend to a higher level of existence here.

Food - Obviously the most important thing. The food is incredible. I always get their generous pupu platter, but when I have room for more, the egg foo young is delicious and the fried rice always hits. It's the very best versions of Chinese-American classics made fresh.

Atmosphere - Just as good as the food. Old school early 2000s vibe - comfy booths, fun patterned carpet, assorted plants, paper lanterns, Chinese zodiac placemats. The real highlight is the music, strictly 2000s R&B jams, and it fits the vibe perfectly.

Drinks - I feel like I'm legally obligated to get a scorpion bowl every time I go, but I've had other cocktails too. They are sweet, delicious, and appropriate in strength. I would come here for just cocktails at the bar if the food weren't so irresistible.

Service - Impeccable. You don't have to wait long for a table or your food. The servers are attentive but let you take your time if you wish and don't rush you. Waters never empty, happy to give extra sauces/napkins/etc, and check in at perfect intervals.

I just love Fu Ming in Johnston. I've recommended (proselytized?) them to so many people and will continue to do so. They're a beacon of the community and I hope they're here for many...

This place needs 5 stars all around!! I understand everyone's taste buds are different so you may not like certain things here BUT! I think we can all agree, the food is fresh and DELICIOUS!! ,it's SUPER CLEAN!! smells great!! Service is friendly and fast!! I'm always seated immediately I go at least 4 times a week!! THE DRINKS!!! OMG!! Every martini, classic cocktail and Polynesian cocktail is soooooo freaking good!!! He is so on point!! And he has special ones if he likes you he'll let you know!! I have no complaints!! The atmosphere is great, I feel comfortable and his playlist is unmatched as far as old school R&B!! I love this place and took me a while to post a review because I don't want people knowing about it lol I want it to myself but I'm sharing it now!! Go visit them you won't be disappointed!!! Prices are so reasonable!! For example, we had a scorpion bowl for 2, a specialty martini, and a large order of lobster sauce and shrimp and the total was $40.32!!! Worth it I think!! I live in Providence and usually have to travel to Massachusetts for good Chinese food but not anymore!!! And it's right next to a nature preserve if you wanna walk of the...

This was previously Jade East..they sold it and now it's Fu Ming. I was in the area visiting my grandpa's grave at Highland Memorial and decided to try it. It was absolutely delicious. The won ton soup is delicious. I had the appetizer combo with pork fried rice. The boneless ribs were flavorful, no fat, delicious and the beef teriyaki was also delicious along with the pork fried rice and sweet and sour chicken. This appetizer combo with rice was $10.95 and outstanding. I could barely finish it. The price was amazing for all that fresh, hot, and delicious food. The wait staff friendly and warm greeting. Very attentive but not pestering. Big restaurant as I had gone there when it was Jade East. This place is 100% better than Jade East could ever be. Try it. It was amazing, I thanked everyone for the delicious meal and will definitely go back soon. UPDATE: I go all the time. It's my absolute favorite and the owner Al and Karen are most gracious, attentive and have wonderful personalities..I also had the shrimp with lobster sauce and I'm hooked on it..food is...

Fu Ming on Manton Ave is a must-visit! The atmosphere is incredibly relaxing and comfortable, all thanks to Karen's beautiful decorating. The food is phenomenal—I've never had a bad dish. Their salt and pepper chicken wings are a personal favorite; they're perfectly salty with just the right amount of heat from fresh peppers and crispy garlic. The salt and pepper shrimp and salt and pepper fries are equally amazing. Al, the bartender, is a true artist. His martinis are the best around, especially the unique Asian pear and mango habanero with a tahini rim. The white chocolate raspberry is also a masterpiece. You can't go wrong with any of his cocktails, including classics like the Mai Tais and Scorpion bowls. And his green tea shots are literally the best! Al and Karen are genuinely kind people who care deeply about their restaurant. The combination plates are also a great value. I highly recommend Fu Ming for anyone looking for great food, incredible drinks, and a wonderful experience.
