I went shopping this past Friday at Aldi‘s for my monthly grocery run. As I was going down the frozen aisle, I saw some 1 pound lobsters better known as chicks or chickens on sale for $10.99. I had been hankering for a lobster and was thinking about going to a restaurant to splurge. Now I know my lobster as I was raised in New England part of my life and then in my adult life as well I knew what I was getting into as it was frozen and cooked already, but I was hungry for it, so I went ahead and splurged and bought the lobster. I thawed it in the refrigerator overnight as directed and I opened the package and it did not smell awful. It smelled like a cooked frozen and thawed lobster. It was still a little frozen, but I figured I’d add a minute or two to the directions to compensate for that. I made a lovely garlic butter sauce to go along with it And I knew there would only be about 3 to 3.5 ounces of meat so I threw in some shrimp also already cooked that I had in the refrigerator. I had read the reviews and some of them were not kind, but I figured if they were smelly or tasted bad it’s because they didn’t thaw it correctly , Anyway I was not disappointed. I was quite happy with my lobster. Yes a little rubbery but that’s to be expected with any leftover lobster but the taste was there. I was a happy camper and God is good. You can use this meet for salad lobster roll or like me just something to dig into and have the pleasure of having a lobster as my main course. So for those who are your craving and on a fixed income, don’t be afraid to splurge and Thank you ALDIs for carrying this product. Ps thank you Mom and Auntie for teaching me to eat these babies correctly growing up,hence the last pic , they would be proud!! lol

The store itself is fine! The manager embarrassed me today. There were a lot of loose green, dirty broken off cabbage leaves in a large cabbage box, and at the counter I told the young man Marc that I only had loose leaves, no heads of cabbage. I use them for the chickens. The manager from the back heard the discussion and hurried to the front. He said that I had to pay for them regular price. I said how about the box, it was a large, heavy, waxed one? Only 50 c off (without weighing it). They charged me $4. 45 for those dirty, loose leaves nobody wants. I said I changed my mind, I rather buy cabbage for that money. Another guy came out, I felt terrible. My husband often gets scraps from Walmart or Vegetable market, was never charged for them. I am sure these scraps will be in the trash by tomorrow, nobody will “buy” them. I felt embarrassed, with people looking while this was happening. Really, you’re now selling scraps at regular price?

My second visit to Aldis in PUNTA GORDA, Fl. I am 74 and eat very healthy. That means minimal fat, sugar and carbs. Aldis stock of quality protein, like organic 93% fat free ground beef and steaks is excellent and about $3.70 cheaper than Publix. Everything that I eat was cheaper than Publix to include the fresh fruit and vegetables. You do have to take your own bags and to rent a cart is a quarter. They even cut the stalk off of the broccoli and that saves on the weight. Even Axel the 6 month old 100 pound English Mastiff enjoys the beef and broccoli.

This Aldi has the newest concept that ALL other Aldi's will have within the year. Billions are being spent to compete with Whole Foods and that gawd awful Wally 🌍.

Which means that they will be offering :

Many more Organic products. Many more Mediterranean food choices (😋) Many tasty German soups 😋

Fresh salads ready to eat in their own bowls, More Gourmet items too.

Of course their awesome selection of cheeses has been enlarged for distinctive palettes. The Prices of All their PRIVATE LABELS and the other brand names will have you returning for more and more.

They have various wonderful meat sales every Wednesday and if you are a lucky one they may actually have more of the special meat sales after Wednesday. . As it's First Come First Served ! My lists always has coffee ☕ Cream, Which would be the Coffeemate Italian Sweet Cream, but it can cost up and over at times $4 per bottle. At Aldi's it's always a mere $1.79!!! Their Kefir Milk is another beyond awesome deal grocery store $s are up to $5 for only a quart. Aldi's price $2.59!! Not from Concentrate OJ is a mere $1.99 Their organic produce of course is a bit higher, but if you are careful about what you feed yourself and your family and friends it's still a heck a lot less than Whole Foods and Publix.

Aldi's Take and bake frozen pizza 🍕 believe it or not tastes better in my opinion and other's is much more tastier with more toppings too than a frozen DiGiorno & it's under $4! They have a bake General Chow's chicken that does come with the spicy sweet sauce that you toss with the crispy 🐔 and an Orange Chicken that is prepared the same way under $5!!

Sautee their Asian stir-fry veggies, prepare some rice, rice noodles or even regular thin pasta noodles and Voila a meal for under $10 dollars!!!! For you Trader Joe's fans please remember that ALDI OWNS Trader Joe's and many products are exactly the same only their less expensive. Upper Middle Classes Middle Classes and the working class all shop at Aldi's and it's nice to see such a diverse demographic shopping together. Remember that they most definitely will double guarantee whatever you take back I had to do it with cherries 🍒 and no questions asked. Regarding the community they are much better at paying their employees a better wage and package than any other store in that area. Only one of course can beat their wages, but one does need to open ASAP!!!! Charlotte County needs to give that horrific place to work (Wally 🌍) Of course I would be wishing and hoping for a COSTCO to open up for many many great reasons. (unless a Costco eventually opens up 🙏 🙏 🙏 Costco Costco does indeed pay a LIVING WAGE to all of it's employees no matter what department you are in. Of course pharmacists and other professionals indeed make much more than the other employees.

So go take your own shopping bags stick a .25¢ into the cart 🛒 and find out for...

We were so excited to check out this new store in Punta Gorda, Florida. What a waste of time.

Our first time in this store turned out to be a nightmare and I will not return to shop again. Walmart won't be losing this customer to Aldi's.

The appearance of the store was quite nice and neat upon arriving! But that's about the only thing I can say good about the trip. Most newly open stores are always neat and organized when first opening.

I'm a very methodical shopper and spent much time choosing my groceries filling my cart with groceries and wine. Wasted my whole morning.

Got up to the check out , cashier rang up my groceries and then proceeded to take my wine bottles out of my wine bag and put them aside. he said he needed ID. Well my husband pulled out his wallet and ID to pay for all and the cashier refused to sell us the wine. His reason? I did not have my ID. I don't carry my purse in stores because of all the theft that goes on in stores. Mind you I am 57 years old and my hubby is older than me. My grandson is 23 years old and could have gone in to buy the wine for me. Nope he just flat out refused to sell my husband the wine because he was with me.

At first we laughed. Thought he was joking. I mean come on... We do have a great sense of humor, I think I look good for my age but that teenage look left me in my mid 30's. Just ridiculous.

Needless to say we decided to take our groceries out of the bags and let them put the items back on the shelf's. Even told them to keep their quarter but thanks for the free reusable bag, I can fit quite a bit in it at Walmart and I left my $5.00 Aldi's coupon on a...
