It stinks that I have to leave this review. I really didn’t want to. So yesterday me my husband, and our daughter went there for lunch. We arrived one hour and 15 minutes before closing time as closing time is 2 PM. We got there at 12:45. At 1:15 PM, one of the waitresses started putting all of the chairs on top of the tables while we were waiting for our food. When our food arrived, she proceeded to bring out a mop bucket and started to mop the floors right next to where we were sitting eating our food. The smell of mop bucket water, and chemicals, turned our stomach, and we could not enjoy our food. Again… this was 45 minutes before closing time! we asked for to-go boxes so that we could take our food home. The same girl who was very rude and proceeded to act like they were closing up when they still had 45 minutes left Is the one who cashed us out and I politely brought up to her that we were leaving early because the smell of the mop bucket water & chemicals made it impossible for us to enjoy our food. She literally gave us the biggest attitude and said it wasn’t her fault that she was “ just following protocol” we knew it was because she wanted us to hurry up and get out of there so they could close up! Our family owns a restaurant in upstate New York, we know how these things work even though we would never do that to customers! I privately messaged the restaurant to tell them what had happened because I did not want to leave this review. They messaged me back apologizing, but basically stated that they did nothing about this situation other than talk to the girl. Which forced me to leave this review. The situation in my opinion was not remedied, as long as you have somebody with that type of attitude working there, I will not return.
in response to the restaurants response underneath: FK Your Diet Punta Gorda it’s very unprofessional and sad that you have to respond with the attitude that your employee had, now I know where she gets it from to think it’s OK to treat people like that! And I absolutely did not give her attitude whatsoever. I was actually very calm and polite. I know that you’re trying to make my review look like it’s not true so that people will think I’m the one who’s being dishonest. But you and I both know that I was honest. And I don’t know if your server was having a bad day yesterday, but let me tell you she was all around extremely rude! paid $62 for breakfast we couldn’t even eat to be treated like that and then when it’s brought to your attention, you treat people the way your employee did … zero professionalism! Real mature too… I am a social media influencer so I might have to take this further due to your continued attitude and unprofessionalism. I have very close friends with millions of followers here in the state of Florida that I will pass on the word so that they can pass it on too. Also… I never “threatened” to leave a bad review for not firing the employee… I have never stated those words at all! And even if I was to give her an attitude, which I didn’t, it was deserved due to the way we were treated! I probably should have given her an attitude! If you all read their responses under the bad reviews… the owners are very clearly defensive people who don’t care about your experience! Not to mention… they are a SCAM! Money hungry, overcharging, food...
Read moreI really wanted to like this place but unfortunately it isn't somewhere that I will return to. My server was nice. That is about the best that this restaurant has to offer. One other thing that I can say is that the food is picture worthy but unfortunately that makes it even worse once you take a bite because you feel like you were deceived. We arrived to dine right when they opened. The ketchup on the table is "Fancy" brand ketchup that never gets refrigerated ever. Think outside Florida temperature ketchup. The bottle even says "keep refrigerated" but apparently that's just a suggestion to this restaurant. The salt and pepper shakers are white plastic like the kind that you would put in a picnic basket and they were so filthy that I chose not to touch them. Did I say that we arrived right after they opened? Yep I did. SMH! The epoxy resin that was used on the table tops wasn't even sanded on the edges after it dried. The edges of the tables show all of the drips. This in itself immediately shows you the lack of care and for thought that was used when decorating this restaurant. The entire restaurant looks like it was furnished from a junk store then a 5 year old child painted it. Our server told me that they had flavored mimosas but after I asked her how they are flavored she informed me that they are flavored with syrup not with juice so I passed on ordering that. I did order Eggs Benny but was told that they can't make poached eggs. I didn't ask why....I just couldn't and remain nice. Over medium is what I got under the sweetest Hollandaise sauce (so they call it) that I've ever tasted. No lemon or butter flavor, just SWEET. The biscuits and gravy were ridiculously sweet too. It was hard to tell if it was a sweet biscuit or that someone sugared the heck out of the gravy but I'm leaning more taword the gravy. My husband ordered a Reuben sandwich. It arrived overly sauced with (yet again) sweet thousand Island dressing. Do you see a theme here???? I don't know who is cooking that food but they should be taught that if people wanted a sweet breakfast they would have ordered pancakes and French toast. This restaurant advertises that everything there is made from scratch. (Minus the hot Fancy ketchup and syrup flavored mimosas apparently). What they don't tell you is that they are using low quality ingredients that are being prepared by an uneducated cook. If you do choose to try this restaurant for the first time please keep your expectations very low. I won't go back even if someone...
Read moreStopped in for a mid morning breakfast and was able to sit down right away without any wait on a Saturday morning. Did some reconnaissance on the menu and was happy to see some tasty meals. As soon as we sat down, we were asked for our drink order and the coffees were at the table in no time. For a breakfast place, this is always a win in my eyes and a 5 star place can easily turn into a 4 star if the coffee wait time is unreasonable.
Our party of three ordered the Biscuits and Gravy (Scratch-made all day long, not from a can like those other places! fresh jimmy dean sausage gravy served over fk flaky biscuits and fried potatoes, topped off with two eggs any way), the Cinnamon Roll (You will have "Dougabetes" after this decadent hot cinnamon roll covered in our homemade warm cream cheese frosting), and the Belly Buster Breakfast Burrito (One pound or more! burrito made with your choice of sausage, bacon or chorizo, scrambled eggs and fried potatoes & cheddar cheese on a 14" tortilla, bring on the veggies! Add more pizzazz to by adding fresh veggies (onion green pepper, tomato, mushrooms, avocado, spinach, jalapeño to you burrito for an additional charge.) You can dial up the heat on the burrito. I ordered an 8 and love hot food and was disappointed I did dial it up a bit more.
All in all, it was a great breakfast. My only complaint that the portion size was humongous. Being on vacation, bringing home leftovers is not really an option. While no doubt the majority of people love large portions, I would have not minded a smaller portion at a small cost savings. But when you walk into a place called FK Your Diet, you pretty much know all the rules go out the window. If you look at the menu and find something you like, pretty sure this place will...
