American Legion Post 103 — Local services in Punta Gorda

Visited post with four Veterans. 3 Were AM members one was member of this particular post but did not have AM card. I order first drinks and was asked to show my AM card which I did without incident. When post member attempted to buy he was refused because he did not have his card. The bartenders became unfriendly and insisted only I could touch the money or the drinks on the Bar. One bartender whispered loud enough for all to hear that “they are Done”. Very u friendly bar for those veterans that are not part of the normal crowd. Was made to feel unwelcome from the moment...

A group of us went fort the prime rib night and the food was good but we did not enjoy ourselves and probably will not return. The round tables are fine but the noise in the establishment is so loud you cannot hear people from more than 2 people away. They offered a 50/50 chance drawing which we all took advantage of from a very inebriated female who made mistakes with the tickets, money exchanges and language. I'm a lapel pin collector. I have over 2,000. I take the backs off and put them in a cork board. I contacted the American Legion to see if they had a pin. Van, their Commander, gave me one. I'm the chaplain of the Elizabethton, TN post #49. I didn't have time to stay, but Sharon, their bartender, & Van made me feel right at home!
