New China — Restaurant in Punta Gorda

Well a few months ago I left a glowing recommendation and review of New China. I must sadly edit my original. We began ordering from here after the closest restaurant to us closed and had been very happy with our orders until last night. Well, I saw the other reopened (and remember much closer) but my husband said lets still order from New China. Well now we wish we had not. We both decided to order fried which is rare. He went and picked up orders of Sweet & Sour chicken and a S&S pork. Our wonton soup and the egg rolls were great. Then we get to the rest. It was like the chicken and pork were from the same package and both sat in lots and lots of grease. Plus the breading on these were crazy thick. He still ate most of his because it was late and he was starved. Immediately, he threw up. I only took a couple pieces and barely ate those and ate some of my rice. I could not even think about eating any of it today for lunch. My husband said we will never order from there again. Well, I know things can happen so I decided to call. The owner said that no one else called about their food last night and wondered why I did not call. First of all folks- I was concerned about my spouse! She agreed to switch out my order with something else and hung up. I made my husband go in with my food and order a Moo Goo Gai Pan as replacement. They gave him a hard time and acted like I ate a lot of the food! Well he came home with a small container packed with hot MGGP but they did not give him fresh rice because I ate some from last night's hot mess. Just want to give everyone a head's up to our horrible experience. We are just very upset...

Customer service is bad. As listed on another post, the girl working the counter is rude. Went into the establishment and walked up to the register. I picked up a menu and started to fill out what I wanted. As I was filling it out the female looked at me and said "yes". I told her I was still looking to see what I wanted. When I was finished filling out the items that I wanted, I handed it to the girl in which she took it from my hand, placed in on the counter next to the register and then asked me what I wanted. I had to look over the counter to see what I filled out. She then added up the cost, took the receipt, the it on the counter, said sign this. She then proceeded to take the menu and place it back on to of the menu pile. No personality about her at all. Won't go...

Best choice for Chinese take-out in the Punta Gorda area! The food is wonderful, the prices are fair, and the service is amazing!

My routine is to order my Chinese food in person, go shop for groceries at Publix, and pick up my Chinese food once I'm done shopping for groceries. It's always ready by the time I'm done shopping, and I can bring home some hot and fresh food!

You can also call in your order if you are just picking up food.

This restaurant is mostly for take-out food, but they do have a few tables inside if you prefer to eat there. So dine-in is an option, but not their primary focus.

The food is so good, just writing this review has made me hungry, and I think I might have to get some food...
