The Grand Canadian Theater — Local services in Purcell

The venue itself is spectacular. It was gorgeous and unique, and everything we wanted for our day. I fell in love with it immediately. We were very straightforward about what we wanted for our wedding—intimate, moody, and very short. The owner definitely delivered with decorations and executing everything we needed for our day. I leave 4 stars because we had a few issues with the owner.

Beginning with the vendor list. At the start you are provided a “preferred vendor” list by the venue. All of the vendors that we reached out to for bartending services were either booked the day of our wedding, or were out of budget—and so we had to deviate from it. The owner brought up several times that there were better choices on the preferred list, even after us reminding her that they were not available. Because of the timeframe of our wedding, one of the preferred photographers flat out told me “she wouldn’t do it,” because of the timeframe we wanted to have our wedding (something about the outdoor lighting).

We lived about 1.5 hours from the venue and were expected to attend several in person meetings. On one particular evening we were told we would actually be sampling our food for our wedding by the owner, and much to our disappointment it was more-so a meeting with the caterer to go over the menu again for the wedding. I left in tears because I had to take time off during an extremely busy time at work, I was told we were sampling our food, so we hadn’t eaten anything, and was severely let down. While the owner was apologetic and even offered to meet us halfway to bring us a sampling of the food, at that point we were past the cut-off for any adjustments for the menu as it was about a month from our wedding. These are just two incidents that come to me, but there were definitely others.

The owner definitely provided the day of our wedding, we just had several issues...

We had the wedding of our dreams at the Grand Canadian Theater 💗. Not just because the place is beautiful and the ambience is warm but because the owner, Gisella, is wonderful. She went above and beyond to help keep me calm and to offer so many extras to make our day special. Whenever I called her for advice or came by to meet with her she never made me feel like she had a million things to do. She would sit and run ideas with me and make suggestions that added so much to our day! AND THOSE EXTRAS WERE AT NO EXTRA CHARGE like they are everywhere else!!!!

She has so many beautiful options to enhance your décor and ideas to make your day perfect. You can't go wrong having your special event there.

She also helped by recommending wonderful vendors that we ended up hiring for our wedding. It made it so much easier to have recommendations from somebody I trusted, professional and knowledgeable in the business, as opposed to having to go through the millions of options that are out there on my own!

I wholeheartedly recommend The Grand Canadian Theater to everyone! I hope, in the future, to host other events there.

If you’re looking for a venue with charm, history, and elegance look no further because you’ve found it at The Grand Canadian Theater. From the grand staircase that you can make your entrance down to the beautiful decor everything about this place is stunning. Not only is it stunning, but working with Gisela is a dream. G helps take care of everything, and your meetings with her to talk about design and decor options will leave you even more excited than you already were for your wedding. We loved having our reception at this venue (we were married at my childhood Church), and everyone we spoke with raved about how beautiful the venue was and how they had no clue it was here.

Grand Canadian is the perfect distance from Norman in that it’s not a hard drive for your guests to make and you can easily get Ubers and Lyfts as needed. We loved our custom marquee over the entrance to the reception place, and my bridesmaids loved getting reading in the bridal suite the morning of wedding. I could go on all day about how helpful Gisela was, how comfortable and beautiful the bridal suite is, and how gorgeous the reception space was! Having our reception at Grand Canadian provided us with the elegant look we were going for, and allowed us to have an amazing party as well. I can’t recommend this...
