David the shop owner at Computer Booter in Carmichael is a proficent dedicated and professional person.
The care and easy to speak with approach he has about him, makes David a really genuine small business man.
He knows my family and has a way about conducting social politeness with a kind approach with genuine concern.
David may also be able to fix your device. He is very knowledgable and patient when it comes to giving honest advice on any mechanism be it PC or entertainment system.
He is upfront when it comes to discussing the amount of time needed for a specific task.
I often see David in my hometown of Carmichael California USA, when I visit his Computer Booter shop near the Starbucks and Chase bank at the corner of Landis and Fair Oaks Boulevard.
When you approach the storefront you will see the Computer Booter window and billboard which is designed in a prominent professional way.
In the window before entering you will see familiar video game icons displayed in a well placed way that reminds visitors that is also a video game emporium to some extent.
Inside there are consumer goods and video games from the past to the present.
Expect to see Official Nintendo certified merchandise imports and domestic. There are Pokemon, Zelda series, and of course Mario themed official merchandise from hats, clothing, and many accesories and jewelry.
Personally I have purchased official Nintendo licensed Mario series amulet that has three pieces in necklace form. It is made of real silver for the clasp and the the icons displayed are the mystery box, star, and of course the mushroom. I usually where it to video game expos and meetups. It has garnered me some compliments from fellow Mario fans and video game enthusiasts abroad as well.
I have been very pleased with everything sold at the Computer Booter shop in Carmichael, as it's very likely you'll experience superior quality official products used and new in video games and fresh new modern licensed visually stunning merchandise from Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft and more.
The inside of the store feels different than a corporate GameStop store. In a typical GameStop store in the past I have experienced it's sterility and general rushed hostility to wean more money out of customers from the mouths of disgruntled over worked employees. GameStop has been well documented for horrendous treatment of it's employees and sub par experience for it's customers. Do you want to pay $5 less than retail for a new video game off it's list price for a used edition. We are talking used sometimes without the orginal casing for a "like new" used game that is $55. So you save $5. Or you you give in to the corporate greed machine that is GameStop and pay $60 for a new sealed video game. The same type of content as used, just with a untouched sealed box. The original plastic film casing with all items included and without the worry of gods knows how many unwashed owners hands it has traveled through. The used item as it's policy at GameStop to keep the potentially damaged and unplayable disc, cartridge, or card hidden in a back room or employee controlled cabinet. So for a used video game it will be sight unseen of a potential customers purchase at corporate Gamestop. Not till your at the register $ in hand do they reveal the mysterious and possibly faulty used video game. If you don't like what you see, then go ahead and pay $5 more for a fully new video game of the same title. It's what the advertising and board of directors at GameStop want you to do. But it is a shallow scheme, since it is obvious they want the customer to feel they have come to an honest original idea of their own to buy a video game for $60 to avoid a potential discrepancy with a used copy. All for the ironic savings of a whole $5. That's GameStop standard.
So go to Computer Booter in Carmichael California USA. David will treat you like a person and provide you with customer care that you would never recieve at a GameStop. You'll probably save money also on everything from used to new items both...
Read moreI want to state this clearly, this review is only If you are looking for help with computer issues, if you want a review about anything else, then skip this. For PC issues, you should look elsewhere, was basically robbed. Came in for an issue that I just knew in my gut wasnt that big a deal and would probably take 10 minutes. Had to wait many days for a response, though that is fine with me because theyre busy. He said he fixed one of the issues I was having, but didnt, you just have to remove a part and it works. The main issue wasnt fixed which was to get it to boot. Ended up going to someone that helped me out years ago, my dad still had their number. I basically found out myself what to do and probably didnt need to give to them either as i had to wait many days too for no reason, but I researched after it was given. I came over to their house and told them I found online about a similar issue to change ONE setting in the BIOS and what do you know, the PC boots. I even put back all my components and nothing is broken. I was told there were possible issues with things like the motherboard. I ended up having to pay $50 for nothing, as there wasnt even a clear diagnosis. I later went on to the website and it says that diagnostics are free. I honestly feel like he was like afraid to look at my computer more or something because he would have charged more which is weird, he doesnt seem like these other corporate like companies that charge $100 upfront and $170 for a 10 minute job. The store itself looked real cool and I hope they stay in business for that at least, so dont want my money back, but this review is just for PC issues. Try to find someone else if you can, maybe someone more personable. Im a social reject, its hard for me to communicate with people sometimes in person and id rather just not bother with all this. Wish them the best, but please dont be greedy and dont be afraid to work on peoples stuff. You dont need to say "Oh these other places charge this or this is the standard fee" there is no standard fee. More people than you think would still slip you a 20 even if you just took a bit of time to fix a...
Read moreI am a new customer, but I will be a regular. Yes, my bill was $220-230 for the service I will explain, but I cannot complain.
I was recommended to CB company by a very reputable source.
I needed my PS3 cleaned, as it had never been cleaned in 15 years. I am okay with tools, but I was not going to ruin my PS3 on a dummy experiment. I work hard for my money, I'll live.
I was offered a full cleaning, and any necessary parts refurbished, for 80$. Yes, you could "just go and buy" another PS3 for that price, but it would not be cleaned and refurbished, right? I also, don't have to worry about buying someone else's broken/half-broken PS3.
The remaining balance ($140) went to my x-box 1s which needed a cleaning after 7+ years, and a hard drive tune up. The games weren't downloading. Computer Booter offered to put a 1-terabyte in my (what once was) 500 gig storage. Again, I am not the type of person to just, "do this."
My point is yes, 230$ to have your systems maintained is a lot of money at once. Yet, if you maintain your current vehicle/dwelling/hobbies, you understand why you also maintain an expensive computer box that you love, right?
Final piece; Upon drop off of my machines to CB, I was greeted by an awesome guy with dreads who offered me a doctor pepper, just because I was in the store. I don't know much, but I don't get that in many moments of my day.
Come by & see...
