Purcell was absolutely great! Took a real interest in our appliances, both older with unusual pros, maybe some cons, too. Matt's enthusiasm was affirming for turning past planned obsolescence, to revive old, long trustworthy mechanics. Loving being able to continue with the one fixed up, feeling so solid and sound now, for hopefully a good while longer, safer for the whole family to manage!
A little of the beaten path, their showroom felt clean, using the old Air Force base, keeping the character of local roots, renovated into being even more inviting, like a warmer second home for comfortable staff, and so, clientele, open to being real mutually caring people customing our world, together, toward maybe a little more standard wellbeing, for all.
My closet connection with this base, is an old friend from an earlier home, Apache from both sides of the Rio Grande, with family crossed by colonizer borders, who joined this campus in his youth, and later helping me take on events for reconcilation with Indigenous in Cincinnati, especially for our Sacred Ride to ancient mound sites down town, to our Vigil for Native Life, through his Mobo Bike Coop, in Northside. So, sweet to connect with this part of his times.
Angela greeted our drop in, clear to task, endearingly ready for sharing little tales to anecdotes of this life journey, like an older world shop, a pre-plastic chains fellowship, seeking to live and revive even healthier, more relating roots, as much as Sabrina wrapped us up tidily, deeply attuned to a long harmonizing family business, like some of the best I've lived seeking, frequenting, and working with on my journey. A welcome respite!
We totally look forward to our next visit! No hesitation for sharing our warm regards for this group. Enjoying our new-old appliance!! Cheering these guys on, eager to share with others! Gratitude! Yes! Do! Plug In with...
Read moreUnfortunately they’re not willing to spend the time to replace the water line in the 3 year old GE fridge. It started when I called and scheduled a service call. James was courteous and wore booties which I appreciated. As I suspected and after lots of research he confirmed after speaking with GE the water line and tank would need to be replaced. After a month of not hearing anything and 2 unanswered emails I followed up with a call. The owner mentioned he wanted to do more research to see what was causing the problem, he wasn’t convinced it could be the water line causing black stuff in my water. In the end he was at a loss and suggested replacing the water line along with other parts. After our conversation I realized he believed the water dispensed out of the door. Not with this fridge, it dispenses from the inside wall. This should have been known from when James was down for a service call. I called to speak with the owner to see if this would change anything. I spoke with his wife who insisted it wouldn’t change anything, and they were not interested in doing the repair because it would be so...
Read moreThe tech came to check out our fridge, charged $125 and told us they recommended we get a new fridge with estimates between $1,500-3,000. They said whatever the problem is its probably the freon, and they dont mess with the freon. Then, later that day, the fridge kicked back on again, meaning the freon was actually working fine. So we ordered a part for $30 and plan on fixing it ourselves. This experience was such expensive bullshit, we dont really trust calling another repair person. You can get a good quality fridge for like $600 btw… it certainly felt like a scam. Notice how many of these excellent reviews below share that they purchased a new appliance… I suspect they recommend new appliances more often than not because hey, that’s a sale! A few months later, and the fix that we did by purchasing a new starter for $30 is still running, and our fridge is still working. This company just posted a response to my review with a whole bunch of reasons why they did what they did, but the bottom line is they didn't advise us to even consider trying a new...
