I went to Andrei's Jewelers last weekend looking for a Christmas present for my mother. I walked in and instantly a very kind and soft-spoken woman made eye contact with me. I noticed the front case was their discount case, and Iām on a budget, so that was appealing to me. So, I paused and glanced into the case quickly scanning for something interesting. I had no idea what I wanted to get my mom, but I knew once I found it, I would know. Then she asked me if she could help me. As I mentioned already, I was on a budget, so I said, āIām looking for a present for my mom and Iād like it to be under $100ā, she directed me to the 925-sterling section. This happens to be my momās favorite kind of jewelry; I had just forgotten until then.
In the meantime, the topic of cats came up. I had just left the Portage APL and was given a free spay for my cat because someone donated money, so everyone that went there to pay for their catās surgery were happily surprised. I was very happy, so I shared the story with the kind woman (I donāt know her name, forgive me) and she shared a story of her son living in Japan and how he found a stray cat in the mountains, and he rescued this cat; then she showed me a picture of this cat. She was very easy to communicate with.
I then started looking for the present. Right away I zeroed in on these beautiful lockets. They had nice filigree in them and looked as though they were a very nice quality. There were three different kinds, one was bigger and oval, and the other two were heart shaped and one was bigger than the other. The big heart had a sticker that read $120, and the small heart was $90. I didnāt ask to see the oval, so I am unaware if the cost. She then told me the big heart could be sold for $100. I already knew I wanted the small heart.
I didnāt get a chain at that time. She told me the price of them, which started at $25, and I remembered she said that. She then offered to gift wrap my locket and I accepted, later realizing that I needed to put photos of me and my son in the locket, so I had to unwrap it as soon as I got home. It was a beautiful wrapping though.
I paid and then I was on my way. Originally, I was anticipating getting the chain from Amazon. Come Monday, nothing could be delivered in time for Christmas, and they were all $25 or more anyway, so I knew I would be taking a trip back to Andrei's for the chain. So, Wednesday I made the visit again, and again, I was welcomed by the kind woman. I was feeling under the weather, so I was less chatty, but was pleased to see her again.
I would definitely recommend Andrei's to anyone who is looking for that one of a kind piece of jewelry to make that special someone feel special. It was a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreGentleman was very kind, but not as experienced or knowledgeable as I expected. I wouldnāt bring any expensive or valuable pieces of jewelry here. He doesnāt have the quality equipment or proper procedures in place. He scanned 4 of my diamond rings with a very cheap & old looking laser light machine, I had 4 rings from 3 legit jewelers and he said none of them were coming back as real diamonds, possible lab diamonds. I have paperwork to prove otherwise. He also didnāt offer the simple magnifying machine to read the GIA number on the inside of the diamond, this is standard. You should have a magnifying machine on the counter to read the number before drop off and upon pickup. Lastly, I went to another corporate jeweler who actually quoted me less for the ring size adjustment, they were able to scan the diamonds to verify that they were all real, apparently they just needed cleaned and scanned properly.. but a jeweler should know this. And they had the magnifying glass on the counter to take photos and allow me to view everything including the GIA number. They snapped detailed photos with the magnifying glass and sent everything through email before I left it for repair. I really wanted to go to a reputable local jeweler but ended up having to go to a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI am completely satisfied with the work I recently had done at Andrei's Jewelers. Their skilled craftsman restored my rings, reinforced them to industry standards, and added a new gemstone. Quite a project, but all done in house. I really had no solid ideas of what the replacement gem would be, but Amy's good advice and suggestions saved me from a couple of bad choices. And she introduced me to the Alexandrite gem I chose.
My engagement ring and wedding band were cut off after an accident a few years ago. And recently, my diamond went into an engagement ring for my son when he proposed. So, I brought the folks at Andrei's two sawed-apart rings, and one with the tops sheared off the prongs. The results of their work are obvious in these snapshots. I was delighted to be able to have this quality work done locally, and deal directly with the folks who were...
