I did not see any evidence of reasonable COVID precautions. The owner (manager maybe?) was walking around maskless handling food and beverages, and I saw several kitchen staff also with no masks. The servers kept their masks tucked under their chin or (occasionally) pulled over their mouth but not nose. One of the servers actually was /eating/ some finger food (a beignet) with her mask pulled down while standing over my table to take a food order, and she did not even wash her hands afterward. Even before COVID, that kind of behavior is extremely questionable in food service. Patrons also walked around without masks, and tables were maybe 3 or 4 ft apart. The staff hung around the coffee station chattering maskless and touched their face and hair frequently, again with no evidence of hand washing or sanitizing.
As a food stop along a major highway, they must know that a decent proportion of their diners are from states that take the pandemic more seriously. I was extremely uncomfortable eating there with my parents, who met me there as a lunch stop when we both happened to be passing through from different states. The only reason I stayed is because they have already had the vaccine so I felt like hopefully they weren't as vulnerable to the negligent atmosphere.
But hey, two stars because the food was OK. Took an awful long time though and they ended up charging us for some extra item that we didn't order. So, back to one star. Sorry.
Maybe I'll give it a shot in another year or so when the pandemic is over. But no thank...
Read moreI went in for Sunday Brunch, really looking forward to it because a friend had nothing but great things to say. I walk into a room with a table of 5 and then me, by myself. The younger waitress was little to no help, did not ask if I had any questions. She barely even made eye contact. I told her I wanted an omlette with mushrooms, peppers, sausage, cheese and a coffee. After not responding and walking away she then went to sit at the bar on her phone and eating her own breakfast. Not once did she come to ask how my meal was. The bus boy had great service and was friendly. Low and behold, the bill came...$24 for an omlette and a cup of coffee. She told.me the coffee was $5 because of the amount that came with a French press.... some coffee grounds and hot water $5... this place is ridiculously priced, especially for the...
Read moreI read all of the great reviews, but HORRIBLY disappointed. The taste of the food is the only reason they got 2 stars instead of one. They hid all the wilted salad under a top coat of fresh. My husband’s gyro had a SINGLE slice of lamb meat; ONE. The staff are all teenage/young twenties who are more interested in their phones/each other to care about the paying customers. I tipped because it's the right thing to do, but definitely shouldn't have (tipping is about service and we got something VERY short of that). Wouldn't...
