I 2nd this guys review below me. I have been shopping at this place for years and years. I have traded in items countless times - but the only time I dont seem to get ripped off by hundreds of dollars is when the young nice men help me out. The owners of this place will rip you off and claim that your movies "are worth nothing" despite these products being out-of-print, collectible slip covers, steelbooks, brand new, or unused etc. If you are an inconvenience to their day they will make it known with attitude and sny remarks and ive even heard the owners talking trash on other customers looking to trade in. I have had times where I have grabbed TONS of movies off the shelf just for the older lady (owner) to claim that it was priced incorrectly and mark up the price on the spot on me. They will NOT let you look at used DVD's or blurays but 85% of these blurays and dvds come scratched, faulty, or not a product that a collector would want but god forbit we open it. They offer a rewards card if you spend money on a movie $9.99 or more. It seems as if this reward program changes often depending on which cashier you have to ring you out. They seem to have very dedicated staff at this place probably more or less for their love of movies, but the way I see her treat these people while there are customer in the store is absolutely ridiculous. This lady will argue with you every time over everything and huff and puff if you interrupt her for help. I have heard employees on the phone with the husband who owns it and seems like he's not ever nice to these people either. I've willingly spent thousands at this place over the years adding to my collection, have also sold hundreds of movies here. Not once did I have a good experience but the convenience of the location is nice. I will not be coming here again and hope many of you take the advise from MANY reviews on here.
Do you self a favor and take a trip over to the movie dome in.. this place...
Read moreI had a bit of an upsetting experience today at this store. While browsing their selection of strategy guides, I was surprised to find a copy of the one for "Final Fantasy VII." The thing is, though, not only was the book not in the best condition, but there was also no price tag on the front cover. There was, however, a leftover EB Games price label on the back cover for $14.99 (which was also the original MSRP as indicated above the UPC barcode), and since the book was not labeled otherwise and was very much used, I assumed that this was the price. When I brought it to the counter to purchase it, the woman there told me that it was not the price, after which she looked up the book on some unknown website and then somewhat arbitrarily told me that the price was $25. Needless to say, I was shocked and declined to buy the book.
I'm not as upset about the price as I am about the way this was handled. The book should have been labeled with the store's price before it was put on the shelf, and if it wasn't, this shouldn't be the customer's problem. Moreover, as someone who has worked in retail for over 20 years, I can honestly say that a customer in most other situations would have insisted on getting the book for the price on the back cover. Overall, I feel that this was very poor business practice, I am very disappointed, and I'm sorry to say that this store...
Read moreThis is a great place to shop for movies and a so-so video game store! The place has an incredibly wide and vast selection of movies and TV shows on DVD/Blu-Ray to pick from, and they organize them uniquely by themes like a specific franchise, actor/director, and genre. It is a bit overwhelming, but it adds so much personality, shows their knowledge on films, and respects the importance of film culture. If you are a movie buff, you will especially appreciate this. The video game selection is good, but I feel like it’s an afterthought - though the store presents itself more as a gaming store than a movie store by the high value games lined up on the wall and the posters outside. I also found that the games are disorganized by not being placed in alphabetical order, and they tuck certain games weirdly into a corner of the store. I have not had any negative customer experiences here, nor have I checked the prices in comparison to what items go for. However, I will mention that the store has a rule of not opening cases unless you’re at the register, which I do understand and respect, though I do like to inspect used items like these for their condition and inserts before I buy. Not much of a hindrance but something to keep in mind. As a whole, this is still one of my favorite places to go to when I am at the Q-Mart for the vast selection of...
