First, the good aspects. I shop for groceries once or twice a week, and when I do, I like to go to this Yoke's. I've been going there for a long time, I know where everything is, the staff members are always friendly, and the store is well-stocked and bright with wide aisles.
However, the problem lies in the produce section. Most of what I buy comes from the produce aisle, and Yoke's boasts a large selection! But the quality of the produce is hit and miss. I've lost count of the times I've come home with a bag of Mandarin oranges, only to find one or more of them rotten. I've encountered bags with rotten potatoes on several occasions, and rotten onions are common too. Sometimes, I'll get a bag of carrots where some are rotten as well.
Initially, I thought, "Oh well, that must just be how produce is these days." However, when I occasionally purchase produce from other stores like Fred Meyer or Target, I've noticed that their quality is more consistent. For example, Target often has Mandarins for one-half or even one-third the price, and they're never rotten or old! I've never encountered rotten onions, potatoes, or carrots from these stores either.
It disappoints me that I might have to choose a different go-to grocery store because Yoke's has so much going for it. However, as I mentioned, most of my shopping revolves around produce, and the inconsistent quality at Yoke's is becoming too frustrating...
Read moreShort of going to the farmers' market or Country Mercantile, Yoke's has prettymuch the freshest produce you can find in the Tri-Cities. Aside from that, there are a lot of interesting things in the area near the health food section, such as Kombucha, a variety of Asian noodle dishes, and chocolates and things that I've never encountered anywhere else.
Aside from their selection of goods, their staff has always been very friendly and cheerful in my experience. I've never encountered a rude Yoke's employee, which is more than you can say for most places. Most recently, I had a couple of questions, and Kyle extremely friendly and helped me find what I needed. So thank you Kyle, and thank you Yoke's for a...
Read moreWe live and work in Issaquah, Washington and vacation in Idaho. This market is a wonderful place to take a rest break from our ten hour drive. Yoke's has a broad selection, clean, inviting appearance and super friendly and knowledgeable staff. Typically on our way to or from our vacation we'll get off the freeway, stop at the off leash park behind the market for our dogs to stretch their legs. Stop by the market to pick up energy drinks and snacks. Walk around and check out their fresh and seasonal offerings. Continue through town and top off the cars gas tank and get back on the highway. A great...
