I was on a roadtrip in my car and needed brake work done so I stopped at this location. They said I needed new front brakes, calipers and rotors but the only guy in the shop that could do it was already kind of busy so it would be 4+ hours before they could have it ready. "That's fine, I'll wait. It is what it is", I said. Maybe two hours later my car was finished and ready. "Great" I thought and proceded north to Yellowstone Park, where I was headed. I called them later the next day asking about a burning metal smell and why there might be steam coming off my front wheels that I noticed after stopping and parking at the park. One guy said that the pads sometimes needed to break in and that the steam seemed odd but may be due to the traffic and hilly nature of the park. I made it all the way back to western PA, where I am from without anymore issues. After sitting for a day or two, I went to drive it to visit a friend and my brake petal was super loose. I had to engage it almost completely to get any function from it. I called a local shop and took it there and the mechanic said that the lines must have been installed "finger tight" and that the brake fluid leaked out which is why my petal had no pressure. He replaced a washer and cleaned it up, costing mostly labor. It ended up costing me about $450 parts+labor at Lee Schwab and another $100...
Read moreOn September 12, we were passing through the area on our way to a Wyoming trip when we had to layover at Jefferson County Lake campground due to trailer disconnect and faulty trailer wiring warnings on our F350. After confirming with the Idaho Falls Lithia that it wasn't the truck and after replacing the fifth wheel pigtail, we still felt we should get the trailer brakes checked so we called the Rigby Les Schwab about bringing in our FW, yet concerned about a place to park it due to its size. Kathy was very reassuring and told us to come down and they'll find a place for us. As soon as we got there Jake helped us park it and he and his brother immediately started working on it. Jake assured us we could leave our inverter running to keep our fridge cold while they worked on the trailer brakes. We even stayed in our truck with our dogs while it was still hooked up to the fifth wheel while they worked. They found that on one wheel, the brake wires were frayed and the magnets loose. They repaired it, inspected all the other wheels and within three hours we were on our way. Kudos to the team at the Rigby...
Read moreBrought my car in to get an estimate on having my rotors and brake pads replaced. I came home with an estimate of just under $700.00 which included calipers that they claimed needed to be replaced. My husband was skeptical of this as the vehicle is well below the age and mileage to need calipers replaced. We took it to another local repair shop, who without telling them what Les Schwab suggested for repairs to get an honest estimate, quoted $275 to have the back brakes and rotors replaced...no calipers, no front brakes. The whole situation felt dishonest. From being told getting the estimate would only take a few minutes and sitting in the waiting room for over an hour, to all the whispering over customers order forms to keep customers from overhearing things. Highly suggest getting your vehicle...
