Attended this school for one year to finish major requirements that were not completed in a previous community college due to relocation. And I didn't want to drive 7 hours to my previous community college. Overall the teachers were good but compared to my previous college professors nothing to go on about. I took classes in the math and science building and one online in the Art and Humanities department.
MATH AND SCIENCE: The Calculus classes are great if you have experience with Calculus in high school or you have a large amount of time to practice during the semester in the textbook, if not go to Norco. In my opinion Norco was better because it was more friendly to individuals who never took Calculus 1A or seen it in their life before. Again this is my own experience. There could have been that one great teacher at RCC math department and I just didn't get his/her class. Calculus 1B was good at RCC I enjoyed that class more despite my lack of understanding in Calculus 1A. I did fairly well in the second portion of Calculus at RCC despite covid 19.
The next set of major courses I took was Bio 60 and 61. Both were fairly good classes. I preferred Bio 61 that's just my preference some people would say differently as they preferred 60. Anyways, for both these classes I do recommend reading the textbook more so for 60. Also I suggest for Bio 60 that you have to be ahead of the game, most of the time the professor for lecture would put questions (extra credit) on things he hadn't taught the class yet. These extra credit points do add up and can be saved up and can replace points for a missed quiz or a bad grade on a quiz. Labs are fun though in both classes and very enjoyable, hopefully labs will be open with safety precautions despite covid 19.
Art and Humanities: I only took one art class. Art-1, its fairly easy online and a great class for individuals who are stem majors and don't want a class that demands too much of their time. Just do you preliminary journals (250 words), write ups, and quizzes. You'll be fine.
Lastly, getting an IGETC here can be very difficult if you come from a different community college. Good news is I got it but the extra hassle and explaining to the Admission that I met the requirements was not what I expected to go through.
Overall RCC is a decent school not perfect I'm sure if I had stayed here longer I would have...
Read moreGreat place to study. Maybe one day there will be a public library at this location. Maybe one day i will be able to enjoy nice walks through this RCC area without someone leaving me no gift of what was promised. Maybe one day i won't be discriminated for thinking as a preschool kid in america that it's okay to take some nice gloves just to be snaked on by some random lady that insisted i get arrested for taking the gloves from her grips of deathly yells and "CALL THE COPS!!!!!" Racist, Preschool Kids in America having fun thinking we found cool gloves then so much pain and screams and even rape and attempts of suicide after. So just do not set kids up anymore lady. (Yes, me and my friends have done way worse than just guns and explosions. Yes, i did my time in many facilities all around the world in many different areas of the world. No, i do not want to take any more gloves or do i want to use guns or explosives. No i do not want to or plan on using combat skills. Yes, i am a trained maybe professional one day? Anyways have a good day. Love ya Johnny. May we one day Travel All Around without feeling lost...
Read moreRiverside City College is one of the most practical, student-focused institutions around. The professors actually teach, not just lecture, and the support systemsâacademic counseling, tutoring, transfer prepâare genuinely designed to help you succeed. RCC students are often sharper and more grounded than what youâll find at some larger, brand-name schools.
Take UC Davis, for example. For all the hype, the actual return on investment is questionable. Many students there graduate with high debt and vague job prospects, despite all the prestige. There's a surprising lack of critical thinking in some classroomsâlots of status signaling, not much substance. RCC students, by contrast, are often more logical, more self-made, and more prepared for the real world.
If you want value, support, and an education that actually equips you for success, Riverside City...
