The concept and the asthenic itself was amazing. Nothing else is worth writing home about.
I highly recommend you rent an umbrella in advanced. We had the misfortune of not doing this and when it came time to rent one, was told it was first come first serve. And in order to find out if any of the umbrella was available you had to leave the lagoon area and go back out to the front desk. I feel like when checking in people if they saw that you haven’t rented an umbrella after scanning in your ticket and you were asked, than it would be a more efficient way for your guest and would save them the headache of trying to figure out where you would rent it from. Once we rented the umbrella and got our flag to indicated that we rented one, we waited over an hour for one to come. There were people who came after us and sat behind us that got theirs before we got ours. When asked when we would get ours, cause my mother in law was baking in the sun, I was told we had to rent it and when I said we did and pointed to our flag was than told there was only two of them working and they’ll get to it soon and they only do what they can see. But it looked like there was plenty of workers.
The worker seemed miserable and if you have to interact with them you get kind of an attitude which made it unpleasant.
And not to mention that the ticket you purchase for your party, everyone better show up! They don’t refund at all if one of your party member can’t make it/is sick. So if they are on the verge of dying better bring them.
And don’t ask them to make any of their specialities drinks at the water bar non-alcoholic . They’ll tell you that they can’t do it even though they did it at the bar upstairs. Overall...
Read moreI just moved to Tampa last month and my friends from my hometown came in to visit me. We decided to go here because it looked nice and fun. The whole time we were there (which wasn’t very long because we left) everyone that worked there was so rude to us. The security followed us around the whole time and kept asking my friend if she was okay because he thought was was drunk when she hadn’t even been drinking. We assume he asked her that because she was sitting on the ground by the bathroom while my friend and I were using it. Then, we go sit at the bar and everyone kept looking at us rudely. My friend ordered a drink (the first one of the day) and me and my other friend ordered virgin drinks because we didn’t want to drink and hadn’t brought our IDs with us. The first bartender was nice about it and was just double checking her ID because my friend does look young and is from out of state. A second bartender which was very rude came up to us and asked us if we were 21 and to show him our IDs (which we didn’t have with us) if we were sitting at the bar and that we “can’t sit at his bar” so we got up and just left because everyone was being so weird and rude and following us around. We are all over 21 but they were treating us like we were 15. We were not even being loud or even doing anything to draw attention to ourselves and there were younger people clearly younger than us sitting and the bar and no one said anything to them. I would never come bac k especially if you are a girl in your 20s that is over 21 because they have never met any...
Read moreI would highly not recommend this lagoon and it’s unsafe environment!
If I could give negative reviews I would. Southshore bay lagoon is probably the most inconsiderate place I have ever been. My fiancé and I along with some friends came to to the lagoon for the first time. After being there less than 15 minutes an umbrella from the company that was in the sand flew up and hit my fiancé in the face and head. To be more specific it was the wooden pole that hit him. An incident report was filed in which they admitted he might have a concussion and were concerned about his grip strength (they also did not include any of this in their incident report). They also explained how this has happened before and that they had to cut the points off the umbrella because people have been nearly impaled multiple times. When asked if they use something such as an anchor to secure the umbrellas they said no. We decided it was best to leave and take him to the hospital.
To top it off we asked if we could receive a refund being and Eddie from management wouldn’t didn’t even let us talk before telling us, “before you start. We don’t offer refunds under any circumstance.”
You would think that under the circumstances of their negligence that they would have given us a refund. We weren’t even there for 30...
