Chef Nieves — Restaurant in Riverview

Omg this is truly a hidden gem! I happened to find this place because curiosity got the best of me when I saw the name on google pop up while looking for something else. I’m so glad I did because finding an authentic Puerto Rican restaurant in these parts is like finding a needle in a haystack! The food was amazing!!! The steak cut like butter and the mofongo omg I haven’t had mofongo that soft since I was last on our mother island🥰 The portions for the main course are huge! The chef and staff were amazing and so kind and made us feel like we were home❤️ Oh and the decor🥰 made us feel like we were sitting at a kiosko in Luquillo❤️ The only thing because I have to be honest here! The only thing I recommend unfortunately is to order the food to go! Which is a darn shame because like I said the decor made us feel like we were sitting in a authentic kiosko but because it’s outdoor seating the flys were relentles! I mean if they put up like a net around the place I’m pretty sure it would solve the problem, but other than that I can’t complain. I will be back but unfortunately I’ll order...

I don't know what Puerto Rican food tastes like and this was my first visit here. If I hadn't found this on Google I would never ad known it was here. You have to drive in, turn right, then go the end and turn right again. It's completely hidden. BUT SO WORTH FINDING! I got carry out and the first thing I noticed was how heavy the bag was. And as soon as I put the food in my car the smells told me this was a great choice. Got home and the quesadillas were literally over an inch thick with huge chunks of meat. I am not sure what the other thing I ordered was but it was a fried orange food shaped like a cup way overfilled with meat, drizzled with sauce and on top of a bed of fresh greens. I loved this, I wasn't in the mood to eat so much meat so I dove into the greens with the fried veggie cup. They were delicious. The servings were enormous, neither my husband or I could finish our meals so we split them each in half. I saw they had Christmas carry out - which I bet...

Chef Nieves is an incomparable stand out in his field! Our family had an important event to commemorate a loved one and not a great deal of time to put it together. From the very first meeting Chef Nieves was the perfect blend of being open to hearing our vision and suggestive to give us his professional insight on how to bring that to life and please a diverse group. His food was praised for days after the event and his team setup a gorgeous display as well.
