Food Lion — Local services in Roanoke Rapids

It seems like every time I go here I have to walk through a cloud of smoke at the front door. The employees stand under the building overhang and smoke. It's disgusting. I was there on 1/18 only to be smoked out by an employee while sitting in my car. The employee came right to the front of my car and blasted me with cigarette smoke. 2/4 Another Food Lion employee smoking in the parking lot, it stinks. Employees standing at loading dock smoking. Meanwhile there's only one register open and a line halfway through the store. Pulled up on the side and an employee got out of her car and threw her cigarette under my car. I guess they know who I am. Update 2/13/23 Employees still force you to walk through a cloud of smoke to enter store. Amazing staff very very quick to the lines and everyone is always glad to help. All of their food and produce seemed very very fresh all the time and that's probably because there's a Walmart right next door that gives them direct competition. But I shop here instead of the Walmart especially for the food and stuff only because this place has a warm and almost wholesome feeling kind of like small town America where the Walmart you can stay in there for 45 minutes with a sign that read help me now or have a bomb and I'll blow the store up and they wouldn't even care they walked right past you so if you're looking for good food and leave someone to give you a hand if you need help go to the food Lion you won't be...

My local Food Lion is AWESOME! Always clean and organized. My only dislike is a corporate thing where they rearrange everything every so often. I understand the marketing strategy behind this, but it throws me off for a trip or two. The staff is always nice, ESPECIALLY Clinton! A very courteous and upbeat man. The local news did a story on him. He is an amazing person. Definitely worth the trip just to shake his hand. Never had an issue here, even with the school kids they hire. Wouldn't shop anywhere else, and I hate when I have to go to another store for a specific item not carried...
