I shop here because it's closer to home and more convenient than Meijer. They're more expensive, but I look at it as I'm paying for the convenience.
But the customer service here is seriously lacking. I realize that good help is hard to come by right now, but they seriously need some new cashiers. There are two young men that work here...one is always at the register and the other meanders around with an air pod in one ear and goofs off with his friend behind the register while customers are just trying to check out. It's immature and uncomfortable for the customer when they're too focused on each other to do their jobs. Today I had a young lady cashier who was very nice, but also clueless when it comes to customer service. I was buying a six pack of pop and one of the cans hit the floor and exploded as she was bagging it. The kid with the air pod came wandering over to check it out and said "oh, you can go get another one." I stared at him for a second because I wasn't sure I had heard him correctly, and he repeated that I can go get another one. I worked as a cashier for several years, and I would never ask the customer to go back and get the item themselves. I would offer to go get one for them.
Poor service, super expensive. Not worth...
Read moreAs someone who works in the customer service field I’m pretty appalled by my treatment. My family shop here quite frequently as regulars and some even work at Family Fare. I come in to buy some money orders on Saturday today around 3pm and the service desk worker asks the standard questions such as if it’s a bank card and she is more than welcome to visually inspect the card and ID, but when I accidentally forgot to move my funds from savings to checking the transaction refused so I said it would be a second but she just flat out refused and exclaimed it “sounded fishy” in front of a line of other customers. No explanation or deferring me to a manager whatsoever. Now I’m not a confrontational person so I just walked out the store but I’m offended to think someone formed a bias already before the transaction even started. I’m understandable with policy rules and that scams are a thing so your CSAs have to be cautious but I am fully cooperative if more info is needed. To clarify this is a complaint about employee behavior and poor treatment due to bias and not against policy rules. When a customer is fully cooperative and using services that are advertised, it’s not right to be treated...
Read moreMy husband and I were visiting family from out-of-state and stopped at this Family Fare to buy formula for our son. He ran inside quickly, while I waited in the car because it was raining hard and our son was crying. The cashier, Heather, (268568) displayed disgusting behavior towards my husband. He purchased 2 packs of formula and Heather said he could not purchase those if he wasn't a father. Okay? How would she know if he's a dad or not? Why does she think she has the power or authority to deny a father trying to buy food for his baby? She then interrogated my husband by asking our son's name and birthdate. Clearly, she does not have children because no parent would be this ignorant, rude, and careless towards another. It's safe to say we will never visit this location again when we're back in Michigan visiting. If you're a parent trying to feed your baby(s) I would not recommend going here to buy any unless you want to be questioned. If Family Fare wants to employ people who display these mannerisms...
