China 1 — Restaurant in Rockford

A 1 star is too high for this place. Nasty nasty nasty! This place is extremely dirty. The walls and the tables (where the walls touch) are filthy. The floor is covered in crumbs and dirt, even though there was hardly anyone in there. The Buffett food probably once tasted good but after sitting out for what tasted like hours was not fit to feed your dog. We were there for close to 30 minutes looking at ourselves thinking we had just made a horrible mistake eating some of the food. During that time they did not change/bring out any new food. The glasses had caked on white grime on the outside. We chose not to drink our drinks. They never did return to our table to ask if everything was good. And you better believe me that table filled with dirty dishes, and half eaten egg rolls and drinks not drank that were there when we walked in still sat untouched when we walked out. We described our nasty experience with whomever was behind the counter and they just said sorry. My 6 yr old was even complaining the whole time how nasty the food was... I recommend getting back in your car and finding somewhere else to eat...speaking from someone whom is now afraid of how the rest of the night will go....

Stopped here between 5 and 5:30. Food looked dried up and disgusting. And it was! I asked the waiter if all the food been sitting out since lunch. At first he didn't reply but then said no no...if we want something freshly made just asked. I went back to see if something else looked better...he was setting out new shrimp. When he was done I put some on my plate...it was cold. This was battered not peel and eat. He came back and I asked if the shrimp was supposed to be served cold. He said no. I told him it was cold. There was hardly anything that was edible. The guy at the front table asked the waiter if he had rubber bands. Waiter said no. Guy asked if he had a slingshot. The waiter asked what for...Guy said "so I can shoot this food across the room"! Started looking around since we couldn't eat the food and notice how filthy the place was. Greasy finger prints and dried food on the backs of the chairs...old dried up food on the floor and corners of the booths. Had to go but no way was I brave enough to venture into THAT unknown territory... I wouldn't give this place a star...I'd give it a sign..."Closed due to health code...

7/30/21 As many others have stated below, they will over charge you and have been doing so for some time. Online prices, in store prices, and whatever price gets whacked into the register from 1997 at pick up are not the same. Beware of their pricing strategies. Food is okay but being ripped off leaves a bad taste. 1/11/22 I decided 5 months was long enough, they have a new menu. Lets see if they have changed their ways regarding price gouging, right? Wrong. I just got home from picking up an order, and with the secret powers of...math...., also using the michigan state standard of 6% sales tax, and a brief phone call to this establishment, lots of back-pedaling and double talk and nervous chatter, was able to settle on a "miscalculation" of 6.69. I use miscalculation in a sarcastic manner. They were gracious enough to offer me a credit of 6.70 for my trouble. Mind you ive eaten here dozens of times over 4 years living in Rockford. I would assume their "miscalculations" total out to hundreds of dollars out of my pocket...
