I am so lucky to live at Shell Harbor as I watched it being built. I have lived in two other facilities so I was able to compare it well. Of course I did not hesitate to move in once it was built. I got a one bedroom apartment and put in hardwood floors as I am in a wheelchair. I also took off the closet door so I could get in it with my wheelchair. Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy mother has been a resident at shell harbor for almost 3 years. She has been very happy in her new home. She has made many new friends and loves the ambiance of shell harbor as well as the staff. The entire staff is very accomadating to the residence needs and always with a smile on their face. They always do their best to fulfill all special requests.
When I moved my mom to Florida, I took her to 10 independent living facilities, and shell harbor was the last one she looked at. As soon as she walked in and walked around, she told me this is it. The interior is very inviting and the concierge and activities director decorate to the nines for all holidays and special events.
I can mention so many staff by name for their helpfulness and kindness, but I will only name one at this time.
Mary the activity director is a go getter. She is always busy , organizing games or classes, driving the bus to lunch/dinner/theater/concert outings, running happy hour, setting up for special event dinners and booking acts or speakers to entertain the residence. She is an asset to the RLC communities and especially shell harbor.
I visit mom 3-4 times a week and participate in many of shell harbor events.
I have been asked many times if I am a resident. š. Nobody knows what the future holds, so I tell them, maybe...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreBefore I give you the reasons I like Shell Harbor I would enjoy sharing with the sports fans among us, especially the football fans, a story about one particular player that many of you will recognize, Tim Tebow. In the 2009 BCS National Championship game between the Florida Gators and Oklahoma, Tim, the quarterback for FL wrote "John 3:16" in the eye blacks beneath his eyes for the game, a practice that was later banned by the NCAA in 2010, imagine that. More than 90 million people goggled that verse that night, most goggled question ever, ever, amazing! Exactly three years after, he inadvertently did it again during his first NFL playoff game with the Denver Broncos against the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2012. . Tebow threw for 316 passing yards . Tebow averaged 31.6 yards per completion ( highest in NFL postseason history) . CBS's final ratings for this game was 31.6 . Time of possession was 31.06 Coincidence? I think not.
Thanx, now for the reasons I like Shell Harbour: The people that live & work here, everyone is nice & so friendly. The food, best ever, 3 times a day. The free time activities, if you need some friends, it's here. Convenience, going somewhere, they'll take you. Care, it's provided 24/7.
Sincerely,...
