It was wired for sound in 1929 and switched to mainly movies. In 1937 it was extensively remodeled and renamed the Ritz Theater and a new marquee was added.

Got to meet Sammy Terry, got pictures with him, got his autograph on a couple posters I have. He told a good story, and heard his laugh and original greeting from the old movie days. Also was shown a free Goosebumps movie.

Super fun little place. Great experience for the price. It is dated but I expected that from a historical theater and it kind of added to the fun experience. Tickets and snacks are both super cheap. My kid enjoyed it.

The Ritz Theatre is a great local theater for seeing great first-run films, many of them children appropriate, without having to make a long drive and pay 3X's the price. All the films are digital and the sound is amazing. They now also accept credit cards in their concessions which make ordering something for everyone a lot less stressful, . . . and who doesn't appreciate free refills! The hospitality is great and it is nice to be able to support something local...

A lovely, old fashioned theater! I'm not sure how concessions normally work as we were there for the free summer movies, but they were free or very affordable.
