UPDATE: Spoke with Megan and she was determined to make our experience better. She apologized for any miscommunication and offered a discount from one of their units equivalent to the amount of money spent on parts. We took her up on it and have a new, working dryer that we dont have to stress about for a long time. Thanks for helping us, Megan. We really appreciate it.
We had previously used Kody for our washer repair and were very very pleased so when our dryer started acting up, we gave them another call. After troubleshooting on our own, we called and explained what was happening, what we did and what we thought the issue was. I was told Ryan could come out in about a week so we scheduled it. Ryan came out, investigated and determined we needed a new heating element. He said he would order the part and let us know when it was in. I got an email about a week later saying the part was in so my wife called to schedule the appointment. It was over a week later but at this point, we had already been out a dryer for almost a month. Ryan came and changed out the heating element and left. That weekend, we tried to wash and dry some clothes and the code came back on during the 1st minute of the first load. Monday, we called and explained what had happened and we were told Ryan's next availability was a week and a half later. We scheduled it and made arrangements for work bc we need a working dryer. He came back out, investigated again and said we needed new heat sensors. We got the email about a week later then called for the appt and scheduled it a week and a half out. Ryan came last Thursday and changed the heat sensors. He said the last possible thing he could change would be the computer so if it didnt work, to call back. Friday evening, we were able to dry 2 loads of clothes but the code came on at the end of the cycle when it chimed they were done drying. Saturday, the code came on 1 minute into the cycle. My wife called this morning (Monday) and asked what the cost of the computer would be to determine if we were going to try to schedule the service to fix it or just buy a new dryer at this point. She was then informed that the computer has been discontinued and there is no replacement part available. To say I'm aggravated is an understatement. This is something that should've been disclosed from the beginning. When we initially called everything online said it was the heating element or the computer and thats what we told the girl who answered the phone. I would've thought that an appliance repair company would've looked up those parts for estimates and told us then that the computer wasn't something we could order and given us the choice back then to buy something else or go forward with the heating element knowing it might not work. I've now spent hundreds of dollars in parts and had them put in a dryer that I quite literally won't be able to fix and HAVE to buy a new one. Can I refund these parts? Can I sell them back? If anyone is in need of a heating element or heat sensors for a kenmore elite dryer, let me know! I now have brand new parts I cant use AND I have to buy a new dryer. After almost 2 months and 5 trips to my house, the problem has not been resolved and I'm out a lot of money and the girl my wife spoke to today seemed very dismissive and like it didnt matter one bit that we felt taken advantage of and paid twice for...
Read moreEdit: Good point by the owner. They didn’t only NOT fix the dryer, but they made it worse. A quick search also shows they charged 4x the amount those parts cost and that the total repair is typically around $150 with parts included. Additionally, the most common cause of my current issue is a faulty thermostat (part they replaced). Hmmm… interesting 🤔 Oh! It also shows they did the job on the 8th and charged me on the 20th. So, I had to pay or deal with a mechanic’s lien on my property.
I came to this company because of the reviews because I don’t live in the area. I’m finding out now from locals that they hate working with this company. It seems like they do a great job at having their bad reviews removed, so this probably won’t be up for long.
Please don’t use this company. They charged $330 to “fix” a $500 (3 year old) dryer. Anyone else would’ve charged ~$200 on the absolute high end for the same repair, but they already had me for their $130 diagnostic fee, so I went with them. I should’ve just had someone else out.
When it still wasn’t working, we tried a couple other things they recommended. Then they claimed that I’d have to pay another diagnostic fee after I called them back within 2 months. At this point, I’m just buying a new dryer and finding a new appliance repair company if I ever have...
Read moreDO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I wanted to order local to support small businesses in our area. I went to the store on a Monday. Was greeted so nicely! The young lady ordered my parts, and said they would be here the following day around 11:30 am. I went into the business at 3:30 the following day to grab the parts. NO PARTS. The young lady told me she had not had time to check in the inventory. She told me I'd get a notification when it came in. I asked her to go check and see since I was already there. NO PARTS. She further stated it showed out for delivery, but that they close at 5 so if FEDEX doesn't come by 5 then they would bring the next day (Wednesday). I called on Wednesday morning I was told "You will get a notification when it comes in you don't need to call", "We can't predict when FEDEX will get here", "I can't give you the tracking number", "I can't call FEDEX". Today is Thursday, I have called their office 5 times this morning and they are putting me through to voicemail. I will NEVER do business here and will never recommend their location. It would have taken two days to get the parts through Amazon or Lowes. I will now pay the next day air fee through Lowes to...
