My husband and I weren’t looking to redo our kitchen but when we experienced severe water damage in November 2021 due to a cracked pipe, we had no choice.

My husband contacted five or six different places (many didn’t even return our initial phone calls) so by the time he read yet another Google Review, I wasn’t really on board meeting yet another person, explaining our situation and needs yet again only to have that person not follow through or even return our calls — yet again. So, my husband went first to meet with Carl. Once he returned from that meeting, he said I needed to meet Carl. We then both visited Carl the very next day in the Kenvil location.

Once I met Carl in person, I knew he was different. His upbeat attitude, his genuine willingness to help us, and his vast knowledge about cabinetry (and many other house related topics) was truly refreshing. Carl helped us through each stage of our new kitchen renovation. He is always prompt in responding to text messages or phone calls, and always gave us updates. He made suggestions to questions we never even thought to ask and really helper us to reach our kitchen goals.

As our kitchen remodel is now closer to completion, I told my husband that I want to invite Carl over to our home to toast our new kitchen —that’s how much we respect and like him!

I can't say enough good things about working with Carl Lessing! From start to finish, his attention to detail and thoroughness in designing our kitchen were outstanding. He took the time to really listen to how we would use the space, and based on our feedback, he made thoughtful suggestions that truly improved the design. It was clear he understood that every decision—from layout to functionality—was important to us.

One of the things that stood out most was how he walked us through different options for the level of detail on the cabinets. He explained everything, from the materials to the finish, giving us the knowledge we needed to make informed decisions. We never felt rushed or pressured—he was always patient and ready to answer any questions we had, no matter how small. And even when we had a few follow-up questions after hours or on weekends, he responded quickly, even on his days off. That kind of dedication is rare and really made the whole process seamless.

He also worked directly with the manufacturer to ensure we got replacement parts when needed, going above and beyond what most designers would do. Even the smaller, often overlooked details were carefully handled, like the necessary extensions for corners and the finishing touches at the top of the cabinets to give the space a polished, complete look. These are the things that truly make a project stand out, and we’re so glad he didn’t miss them!

I can’t say enough good things about my experience with Blue Ridge and my kitchen designer, Carl Lessing. Carl was there every step of the way from my first appointment back in December through the completion of my kitchen remodel in June. He is one of the most responsive people I have ever worked with. He quickly responded to my emails and calls throughout the entire process, whether it was to give me ideas, do everything he could to resolve any issues or just put my mind at ease (a lot goes into a kitchen remodel!). He is super knowledgeable and so easy to work with. He came to my house to measure before we put the cabinet order in and my contractor was so impressed on how precise the measurements were and how all the cabinets fit perfectly.
