Starr Market — Local services in Royal Oak

This place is within walking distance from my home. I realize this will make me sound like a colossal alcoholic because both CVS and Tania’s were out of the half-gallon of Kettle one vodka. I know I could have bought a fifth, but the amount of vodka I drink is not worth buying it by the fifth. LOL, I have lived within walking distance of this place for the last eight years, and I am not sure why this is not my default liquor store. Over the years, when I did come in here, it was always the same guy every time I came in. he was always a super cool Dude. Also, the amount of booze they have in this store is really quite impressive. Again I am unsure why this place is not my default liqueur store. I will have to admit that it looks like a sketchy party store from the outside that is attached to a house. But again, that should not stop you from going in. My first time at this store I walked there with my two kids and was a little short on money to get them both the "fancy" $3-4 drinks they picked.. But the man behind the counter rung us up for exactly what I said I had- not even close to what the total should have been! I actually cried a little bc of our current situation.. Which of course is rough- then my 12yr old son hugged me starting to tear up as well and the man handed them each a 2nd bottle of their fancy juice "on the house"! ❤ I can't even put into words how grateful we all are for this random act of TRUE KINDNESS and total love! That man was our Angel that day and 5 stars...

Mike and Danny are the greatest: so welcoming, kind, helpful, and friendly. A great little neighborhood spot with a great selection of beer/wine/spirits too. Best liquor store in Royal...
