Food City — Local services in Saint Albans City

I have bought several items that are out of date from here. The last time was a couple of weeks ago, I purchased some Polly-O cheese sticks. As my daughter and I were leaving the parking lot we each opened one and I took one bite and it didn't taste right and my daughter had taken two bites and she said the same thing. So we looked at the date and it was January 17, 2017 which would make them 7 months past the date to be sold much less eaten. I immediately turned around went back to the store returned it went to get another package and the next two packages had the same date on them so I brought them to the front of the store with me handed them to the cashier. I was never offered a refund, an extra package or any type of reimbursement for what I had just purchased which was almost a year out of date. Other local grocery stores would've offered one of those options. Needless to say, I have not shopped...

Been going here all my life, never had much issue until last time I went. I carry a bag with me due to disability, which has never been an issue in the dozens of times I have visited. Was approached and told that bags were not allowed and had to be kept up front. I have been going for years, and it has never once been an issue. I don't understand why now, it is. The staff here is awesome, having said that....their prices border extortion, if your looking to save money save yourself a trip there and just got to price chopper, hannafords, or the family dollar next door. For some things they have OK prices but, honestly even for basic stuff like Ramen noodles, you'll find them for less even at a gas station. Like I said their prices are a blatant rip off. Why, because they are nestled downtown, and they no most of the low income folk...
