I went to Twiggs a few days ago and I was very unimpressed by the service. The usual things like asking about how our order was, was as expected (answer to how the food was it was average but nothing wrong with it) but the worst thing about the experience is how unwelcomed we were made to feel. We did not rush out especially as half of our table had leftover food but in addition to that a few staff members came over on more than one occasion to not so subtly try and rush us to leave! Keep in mind we were a party of 4 and not all of us had yet finished. There were also plenty of tables so it was not because they needed the space. I noticed one table where 2 people were sat down looking over at us a lot and a 3rd person who was standing was casually talking to this table while they all kept glancing over at us frequently. Imagine my surprise when the standing person comes over and makes a clear (poorly masked with feigned politeness and a pushy 'hope you enjoyed' [now hurry along] setance) attempt to get us to leave! Yes the person who approached us (and was giving unfriendly glances along with some of their evidently more welcomed guests) was in fact a member of staff probably high ranking with all the time he took to stand around and chat to that table. We were polite, not loud, demanding, or obstructive in any way, I cannot for the life of me think of why the atmosphere was so unwelcoming. Well I have a thought or two but I shudder to think it could be anything to do with the individuals in our dining party. Whatever the case may be, don't worry, we certainly won't be coming back or recommending this establishment to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFirst time ever eating at Twiggs was a few weeks ago. I brought my daughter in for her birthday lunch. Place was empty except for one other cpl sitting in back of us in a booth. Server was "ok". Slow getting over to us to get our drink orders and see if we wanted an appetizer (again only ONE cpl behind us in the whole place) we finally place our whole order at once cause we weren't sure if she was going to be back to take our meal order so did it all at once. Food took forever and all we ordered was basically fast food i.e. sandwich and chicken strips. My fries were cold, chicken strips burnt, coleslaw had WAY TO MUCH horseradish in it (my mom is a horseradish enthusiast) and she even said it was way too much. Our mozzarella sticks were good. My daughter had to step away from the table for a moment so I asked the waitress if they had or did anything for birthdays, she said yes but never told me what. So my daughter comes back and we are sitting there and the waitress comes over with the birthday sundae, it was I think brownie, ice cream, chocolate, whipped cream and a cherry. It was very good that is till I got the bill........... OMG was I sooooooo not impressed. The charge for that sundae was $9.00!!!!!! I was upset cause she never told me what it was nor gave me time to ask after that and she didn't even give me a chance to decline it. Anywho I don't really know if I'll be back or not. It was one of the worst first time eating at a new restaurant experiences I've ever had. Too bad cause everyone I talked to really hyped...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy husband and I had dinner there a couple of Sunday nights ago. The hostess who seated us didn't know who our server would be so she took the drink order. About ten minutes later a waitress took our order. Ten minutes or so after that another server came to take our order. When our food came out my sweet potato fries (an upgrade item) were cold. My burger was missing the bacon and my husbands chicken sandwich was missing the candied jalepenos. When the waitress finally came to check how everything was we mentioned the missing jalepenos, to which she nonchalantly replied they were out of those. That would have been nice to know ahead of time so he could have chose something else. We then mentioned the bacon missing from my burger. She said she would check with the chef. She came back and said that there was NOT supposed to be bacon on the burger, according to the chef. I said oh my mistake, however I checked their website and it clearly states that there IS bacon on the burger I ordered. We never even bother to mention the cold fries as new would have come out when we were finished eating. After we finished, we mentioned as an FYI that the burger did in fact come with bacon as per their website menu. The waitress said she had also saw it on the menu, so she spoke with her manager and gave us a whopping 15% off my burger only, which saved me the price of the upgraded fries! So after the discount, before tip with no alcohol, the bill was $37 and change for two mediocre sandwiches/burgers. All in all the experience was terrible. I...
