The first time we went here, we loved it. It was very quiet - just us and one other table. The Mongolian beef was delicious.
We took our guest to this place shortly after, and had a horrific experience. It was dinner and very busy. The wait staff was clearly not equipped to handle such a rush. We sat at the only available table as soon as previous patrons left. We then spent 20 minutes (yes, 20, we timed it) trying to get the waitress's attention to get menus and the table cleaned. All pointless. Most attention was given to the take-out line at the expense of seated clients.
Eventually, another table opened up, and we moved there, and finally got them to clean it and bring us menus. Another 10 minutes later, they came to take our order.
We ordered for the 3 of us, including one vegetarian dish (not a customization but a regular menu item). 10 minutes later, they brought one meat dish, 5 minutes later the second one. We kept waiting for the veggie dish (our guest's order), which didn't show up for about 10 minutes. We finally asked the waitress what was up, and it became clear that no one was planning on bringing anything else. It took an additional 15 minutes to get the dish.
Our guest started eating and was horrified to realize that they made a mistake and prepared a meat dish instead of the vegetarian one that was ordered! At this point, we had been sitting in the restaurant for about an hour. We called the waitress over, and he took she dish back and after yet another wait of about 10 minutes, brought the corrected version. What was supposed to have been fried vermicelli was actually soggy noodles with soggy vegetables (steamed or boiled but certainly not fried). It was disgraceful. We sent the dish back.
In the middle of this experience, we ordered green tea (normally included for no extra charge in Asian restaurants, but they charge a few dollars for the watered-down beverage). It took them 20 minutes and 2 reminders to bring it.
The whole time, with one mistake after another being made by the wait staff and kitchen, there was ZERO effort to make up for the series of incompetencies. Here's a suggestion: mistakes happen. It's your job, your mission, to keep your clients happy. Why not bring some fresh tea without charging for it when your clients are receiving their meal with an hour delay? Why not think ahead and offer dessert on the house? Make our clients feel that you care. Your business doesn't exist for today only. And in the future, for us,...
Read moreI had high hopes for this restaurant due to its good reviews, however I was overwhelmingly disappointed. My friend and I stopped tonight while we were passing through St. Albans, and while we’ve never been to this restaurant we’ve been to countless other restaurants that serve the same cuisine. The appetizers were great honestly, we didn’t run into any issues until the entrees. My friend ordered pad thai with chicken and what she received barely resembled pad thai and it had such a horrific smell we both lost our appetites. She tried to eat a bite and couldn’t even finish it. I ordered the eastern combo with general tso’s chicken. The chicken itself was okay but the sushi it came with was bad. It was very mushy and just obviously had been sitting around for a long time. I ate one piece and couldn’t bring myself to eat more of it. I’m pretty sure if it was anything other than a California roll it wouldn’t have been safe to eat at all-it seemed so old. Also the customer service was horrible, the wait staff consisted of a group of young high school girls who were too busy gossiping to actually serve their customers with any promptness. Also, when my friend very nicely brought up the issue with her food they went about 7 feet away to the register area and were all loudly gossiping about us-especially my friend. To be completely honest it was one of the worst restaurant experiences I’ve had in a long time, and both my friend and I are not normally ones to complain so that’s saying something. I’m glad my friend barely ate anything because now that I’m back home a few hours later I’m feeling incredibly sick and have been camping out in the bathroom. Consume at...
Read moreStopped in to get some sushi rolls. Explained we wanted the sushi rolls not sashimi rolls. The women showed us a picture of the difference between the two they offered in the sushi for two option and I was clear I only wanted the sushi rolls not sashimi, California rolls spicy tuna rolls etc. She said not a problem… we waited twenty min for our order which is fine, it’s fresh and happy to wait. When we got home, about a 30 min drive and opened the boxes we got all sashimi. Called and explained this not what we ordered and the lady who assisted us said to hold so we could speak to the manager. Waited about 10 min and she (not manager) came back on the line. She explained what we got was the sushi (it sure wasn’t) and she said the manager said if we wanted our money back we could bring the food back as they could break it up and resell it and give us our money back… ummm excuse me?! This food has left your establishment, and by the time I bring it back it would be over an over sitting out of the refrigerator, this is not acceptable and quite frankly I’m sure the health dept would love to hear you say that. She said this is all they could do. Our neighbors took the sashimi so it wasn’t wasted but this will be the last time I ever set food in this establishment....
