Stadium seating is a great idea, so everyone has a great view of the screen... there are several empty spaces for wheelchairs in all 16 theaters (a total of 80 if there are 5 empty spaces in each theater), HOWEVER: 1- there are NOT ENOUGH handicapped parking spaces!! 2- There is no automatic door button on atleast one door for people in wheelchairs, so they can get through the doors more easily & safely. Not to mention the fact that people who use walkers to get around are NOT able to open the door AND be able to get their walker through the door without the risk of being hit by the door- and possibly falling down... Try opening the door while sitting in a wheelchair, or using a walker sometime... it will be a truly frustrating experience for you! Of all the times I have gone to the movies, there was only ONE OCCASION where an employee was available to open the doors for me... of all the other visits to the theater, there were only a couple of times when another moviegoer was there to get the heavy door for me- if it hadn't been for that individual, there would not have been an easy OR safe way to get the door open. 3-Ttrying to open the door (in a wheelchair) to go into the specific movie theater is another issue... my fingers got pinched between the door and the wall going in one time, and it REALLY hurt! That problem, however, does NOT just affect people in wheelchairs... that includes ALL individuals that have mobility issues, people that have painful arthritis in their hands, their wrists, or even significant shoulder problems- such as tendonitis or bursitis. There are countless other health conditions that others are suffering from, that prevents them from being able to function like other individuals... Also, during peak times, overflow vehicles are parked in the grass/dirt lot across the street. That may be okay if the weather is dry, but if there is a heavy rain, customers have to wade thru several inches of water & muddy quagmire! People pay a good amount for a movie ticket & a pretty penny for food... ALL parking should be HIGH AND DRY- period!! What about the situation where people let their dogs do their business in that grassy lot? Standing water, that collects where animal feces is present, will pose a serious health risk to all who walk through there! To the owners of the St Augustine Epic Theater- I hope you read this review... PLEASE, do this for all the customers that come to your movie theater- finish the parking lot across the street! It is 2018... NOT back in the horse & carriage era. That is why your facility has not received 5 stars from me. Fix those issues, and I will not hesitate to give your facility 5 out of 5 stars! Try dealing with the issues I have mentioned, by using a wheelchair or a walker... find out what it is like have to park so far away from the entrance, because there is not enough handicap parking... then, try to get through the doorway without any assistance or problems. To make it realistic, buy a drink and a popcorn, then, try to hold on to everything while trying to get the wheelchair through the door going into the movie theater... more than likely, your expensive food & drink just went all...
Read moreHire more people! Or keep the ones you have by paying them more. You charge $5++ for a small popcorn, you can afford to give your staff raises or hire more people to give the staff on the front line more help.
If you have one person behind the concession stand with 10++ people in her line & your movie starts in 2 minutes - it's not great for your pay-through-the-nose customers & it's not conducive to a stress-reducing pass-time.
Sure, we can arrive earlier.
This day, we did, in fact.
You had one cashier out front selling tickets. One of the couples ahead of us were there to see some movie for the 2nd time because when they were there to see it on another day, there was a problem. What was the problem? They told the cashier. He commiserated. They talked some more. And still some more.
When a person behind us started to complain, it got ugly. The line didn't move while the couple screamed at the one complaining about the delay.
When it was our turn, I asked for a Senior Ticket & the clerk questioned us. I wondered who would claim to be one who was not?? The clerk was rather surly, too. When he passed me my change, the wind caught it & I lost some more time catching it.
When you enter the theater, the person who is supposed to tear your ticket & tell you where your movie is showing (is it MY left or YOUR left?) was elsewhere. Another wait.
The parking is free, the bathrooms are well-lit, but I've been to Epic more than once & they rarely have soap in the Women's Restrooms. This was one of those times when they came up empty.
The theaters are often stuffy & they smell like they need a deep cleaning. I always feel itchy when I'm there. Temperatures fluctuate. You sweat at the beginning & wish you had a sweater halfway through the movie.
They do offer old movies (full price!) during the summer. Classics. Musicals. But don't expect to see independent movies here. Expect super heroes, car chases & gun fights. The same movies will show here as they show in Topeka or Plano.
I believe I've spent my last dollar there.
They won't miss my business -every thing I've mentioned proves they just don't care about their...
Read moreI had a wonderful experience at the theatre this Friday. I thoroughly enjoyed the new scream movie. Afterwards I went to the restroom and lost my phone. The person who worked there named Ash and another girl who was working wouldn’t rest until my phone was found. Ash especially shined. I’m not sure of their pronouns but they had a nose piercing and they did an excellent job in helping me secure my cell phone. Honestly, it was incredible costumer service and clearly caring about their job. They showed me the upmost kindness and helped me locate my phone at all costs. It was amazing and I was so impressed with how much they actually cared and helped me. I don’t know what exactly their job is but I can tell you without hesitation that they are excellent at it. And if they can actually read this I just want to say that their hair and piercings were absolutely adorable and they absolutely deserve a raise or some kind of promotion. I really hope their incredible actions don’t go unrewarded be cause they truly helped me out and were willing to do whatever it took to find my phone. And thanks to them I did find it. It was at concessions and that was my bad: but when we thought it had been stolen; because location on my iPhone kept moving; they followed us to the parking lot and watched our car. Not only that but she was helping other costumers all during the time they were helping us. So not a single person was missed while I was having a 30 minute breakdown about loosing my phone. I cannot tell you enough how much I appreciated the genuine kindness, compassion, and attention to detail. They are excellent and no matter the position of the person who receives this email, you should understand how valuable of an employee Ash truly is. Thank you for your time. Ps. The other girl was really kind and amazing too. I don’t know her name but she had blond and dark brown hair. And she was very pretty, if that helps. But Ash was really the one who was taking control of the situation and saving my cell phone. Even though I was acting a bit rude from the stress. So please show them some love for their incredible work. Have an...
