The Woké Poké — Local services in Saint Augustine

I'm a collector of pokemon cards for pure nostalgia. I found this store while visiting St. Augustine and man, I was not disappointed. Super friendly staff and patrons made this experience even better, especially when some of the other customers handed out free cards to the little kids. There are tables set up for players of all ages and a gated play area for smaller kids to play or watch TV. They had a very popular mystery card dispenser by the front door that only takes quarters. There were refreshments that could be purchased near the counter. There are many card binders from different eras to skim through, as well as a vast collection of graded cards behind the counter. The prices were fair, but there were no discounts on bulk buying, which isn't a deal breaker for me. I know every card shop is different, and I respect that small businesses need to make a profit somewhere. Pop in a weekday for a nice exchange, or come by on the weekends for the excited buzz of their (biweekly) friendly saturday evening tournaments, followed by a casual Sunday.

If you don't know a thing about Pokémon, you won't be shamed, EVERYONE within the perimeter would be happy to introduce you to the wonderful wide world. From the cards and building the decks to battle with, to the lore itself, you'll feel welcomed every step of the way.

This shop isn’t just a store you go to buy Pokémon cards, it’s a shop you visit to have the ultimate Pokémon experience. My son started out as a Pokémon card collector. After visiting this store he wanted to start learning how to play and participate in the tournaments, which he had his first one this past Saturday. While he didn’t win, this store made the experience amazing and everyone had a great time.

My knowledge of Pokémon was limited to what I could learn from Pokémon Go but since I’ve been taking my son to this store I now too know how to play and might even participate in future adult competitions, for fun of course.
