Old City Subs — Restaurant in Florida

I honestly was not impressed with the subs they have here, I stopped today for the first time and ordered the French dip medium size meal.

The bread for the sub was not of deli quality, and also was not the right type for a French Dip Sandwich, it was basically bread that you can get in a package from Walmart and believe me, there is a huge difference in taste when the bread is of high quality.

The French “dip” for my sandwich, was extremely salty!, I definitely did not enjoy dipping my sandwich in the broth dip. I was definitely not satisfied with my sandwich.

I ordered a meal that comes with a drink and a side; you can either get a bag of chips, potato salad or coleslaw, I decided to get the potato salad and there are two things for me to say about that...

First of all, the potato salad did not taste homemade or freshly made for that matter, so I must assume that it also came from a container from Walmart and that is very sad.

Second and last the potato salad serving is really small, I am not complaining too much about this, because I did not like the potato salad, yet it should be a bigger portion.

So overall it was not the experience I was expecting, yet, like others have expressed on other reviews; The staff is very courteous and friendly, unfortunately... the dining area ambience is extremely boring.

THE AFTERMATH: Boring Atmosphere + Not a good sandwich + Friendly staff .... still =...

Its like they dont care about quality ingredients. Ive never had a sandwich prepared the way I ask, and its not just once or twice. Its gets frustrating when it happens over and over. I've stopped visiting the establishment. Dont bother asking for "extra" anything on the sub when you order, it seems like they put less of it just to spite what the ticket says, Idk. Ive experienced this exact example everytime I order. Half the time, its missing half the ingredients I asked for. IF YOU DONT LIKE THE BREAD TOASTED, YOU MUST SPECIFY THIS WHEN ORDERING BECAUSE THEY AUTOMATICALLY TOAST THE BREAD FOR EVERY SANDWHICH. And it makes it rock hard. This is the case dining in and delivery. O and delivery will take an HOUR gauranteed, even if you live within a mile, and tip well. Maybe there's a secret club I'm not in. A members only cult thing. Its just a weird vibe on the interior as well. I'm done, even if it is convenient, ill go to subway (ew) or firehouse (best). Some of the people are nice and friendly but others are like robot drones that seem to loathe their job....

Fantastic location, great casual atmosphere, and a full parking lot.

I’ve passed by this eatery several times, but it was always between meals. Today, I intentionally stopped by there for lunch.

The parking lot was filled to the brim and I ended up parking in the next lot over. The inside of the restaurant was filled with firemen and civilians, and the phone was ringing off the hook with delivery and pickup orders. All promising signs.

I ordered a ham and cheese and waited at a table. It was clean and tidy, and I didn’t have a long wait before the server delivered my food. She was gracious and helpful and upon first glance, it looked like a great sandwich. But upon tasting it, I was a bit underwhelmed. It was a good sandwich, just not great. For granted, it was just a ham and cheese, but still, I was hoping for more flavor and texture.
