Make sure you THROUGHLY inspect every piece of clothing you want. Check all the seams, buttons, Beading, check for stains, snags from where the original tag was most likely located if you are shopping here to resell stuff make sure that the item has the original tag if that matters to you... how the store gets its inventory is it a buy leftover inventory from big department stores at a discount because they're sold as a final sale without the option to be able to sell back to the department store any inventory that they can't sell. Because it's a final sale type transaction department stores will throw in customer returns along with the rest of the inventory. More often than not customer returns have some sort of defect and almost always have the original tags removed. also some department stores will Mark the inside tag of the piece of clothing or completely rip off the original tag. They cut off the original tag or mark the inside collar tag to prevent someone from buying an item at a place like this and then going back to department store and trying to get a refund for the price that the department store sold it for. If your reseller this is something to remember while you're there because some buyers are aware of what that Mark means and will try and use that to get a huge discount from you because of it or if it's missing the original tags then it's not considered new with tags anymore. So if you are hoping to resell what you find here just make sure that all your items actually have the original tags still attached and if you can find any that don't have markings on them that is preferable but most have markings. My suggestions are especially important if you found it in the clearance section as I found majority of their clearance section had some sort of defect. sometimes it was disclosed on the tag marked as 'store defect' often times it wasn't written anywhere. Another thing to check for is holes where security tags were... You can definitely find yourself a good deal here if you're willing to look for it. overall it's a lot like TJ Maxx or Marshalls a lot of similar brands and similar 70% off retail prices and a good selection of high-end designer brands that you won't find at a TJ Maxx. If you like to hunt for discounted designer clothes and Handbags and accessories it's definitely worth checking out just make sure that you check over everything very very carefully the first time I went I didn't know to do that and I got home with a couple bags totaling almost $600 spent and 70% of them had some defect that was significant enough that had I known about it I wouldn't have purchased that item. Disappointing to say the least. I did give it a second shot and the second time I went I was just extremely picky about inspecting everything and I'm happy with the $300 of clothes that I...
Read moreFirst, I want to say this store is always clean, organized, and filled with great finds! I truly enjoy shopping at Opitz.
On a not so positive note, I have had some of the worst customer service. I saw at least 5 employees while shopping today and not a single one greeted me. Actually, two of them were on their phones when I approached. One of the ladies in the fitting room was totally not friendly and was talking very loudly to another employee about sexual acts while I was trying on clothes. The kicker was Nea at the check out. She didn’t greet me, so I said hi to her. She didn’t reply. I thought maybe she didn’t hear me, so I asked how she was doing. She said “good”, but did not engage almost at all. I told her about my experience, stating not a single person greeted me or asked how I was doing. I then told her I’m very disappointed in my experience. She didn’t say a thing. I finished checking out and said “have a good day”. She didn’t reply.
After that, I went to Minnetonka Opitz- total 180 degrees. Staff were friendly, inviting, and helpful. I told them about my experience at SLP and they apologized on behalf of the SLP...
Read moreFirst step in you are greeted by a friendly, smiling employee. They have signs saying the police will be called if they suspect shoplifting. There is a grading system that explains imperfections at "The Annex". There are some great finds here if you are patient. There is a convenient "clearence" room next to the dressing rooms. Make sure you wash your clothes when you get home because Opitz gets bagsfull of disgaurded clothes from major retailers (Macys, Bloomingdales, Nordstroms for example) and resells them to you. Some items may have a missing piece or a rip, snag or stain, but most of their stuff is in pretty good shape. The employees dress fashionably & some have a unique style about them. The people that work here seem to enjoy their job & are helpful. Parking can be tricky. They do not accept Amex. Lotta hi end stuff here. It can be crowded at times. They sell purses, almost every kind of clothes, shoes and jewelery. Most of the stuff caters to women, but guys can find some great buys too. It is worth a visit -- you may strike a find! Four stars...
