Terror At The Fair — Local services in Salem Lakes

This is a fantastic haunted house! We brought our 7 year old who thrives on all things creepy, it was her first haunted house experience. The actors were phenomenal and all of them interacted with her at least once. She was in heaven!

Waiting in line was fun, lots of actors outside that were very entertaining for the wait. Music, lights, dance-offs, shenanigans. The wait to get in to the house is kind of long, but for good reason. They space groups out, I think only one group is in each building at a time. We like this, the actors can better focus on your group.

The house itself is broken into multiple barns, so it's a decent size. The sets were realistic and gory. It's not your typical run-through-and-don't-get-got kind of haunted house. There's storylines to most rooms and the actors involve you in it. They focused on my daughter, which was what I hoped for. My favorite part was the laser fog room, couldn't see a thing!

For the adults: how you feel about this haunt depends entirely on what scares you and what you enjoy. I personally do not get scared from gory sets or scare actors, I need sensory deprivation/overload to get scared. This house has a couple areas with sensory stuff that I enjoyed thoroughly, but it did not scare me, my husband, or sister. THAT SAID. There was an extremely long wait to get in. But there was actives and actors outside which made great entertainment. Once inside is where the problem began. Actor must have not been trained properly. Actors called my family and I numerous insultive names throughout the whole haunted house. At 1 point I had to stop a couple actors and ask them to not call my family names as I found it very inappropriate. The scenery inside was great and I took my time to look at it but again I was insulted by actors for going to slow. Why have all the haunted decorations if a person can't look at them? The name-calling by the actors ruined our experience and pretty much our whole night. I would not recommend going to this haunted house unless you like being insulted. The only reason I gave 2 stars because the entertainment before entering was great. Also because decorations in the haunted house was great. Overall...

Not sure why the reviews are so bad. It's wasn't exactly scary depending on what scares you. We took a group of 13 yr old girls and some were scared of the characters that follow you around... others were amused. I thought that it was more funny or entertaining than scary. I get easily jump scared and there weren't alot of jump scares. I thought the acters were great and their story lines they went with were great. Where they could improve is to have more jump scares and the end was a little abrupt... thought there should be some kind of big finale but we just exited and we're like oh it's over? Line wasnt to long when we got there but it got longer as we waited and it moved pretty slow cuz they had to...
