I had originally made an appointment for color and I didn’t exactly get what i asked for, but i was content enough with the outcome. I decided to go back and get my haircut since I thought it would be a good idea since we had talked a lot during the first appointment so i felt a connection to go back. I really wish I hadn’t. Not only did she lie by telling me she was comfortable with short hair cuts when she wasn’t, she made me feel incredibly uncomfortable. She kept making comments the whole time saying “guess we’ll see how this turns out” and in particular one thing that stuck out to me was her saying she didn’t want to make me look like a “dyke” just randomly throwing out a homophobic slur like that shamelessly was incredibly appalling especially because she doesn’t know who I am or what my sexuality could be. I felt uncomfortable and unsure what to say so I just laughed because I was so caught off guard. Not only did she make me feel uncomfortable but I left with a haircut that I absolutely hated and have hated since. Styles by Missy is such a unique salon. I love all the plants and her decor. It’s placed perfectly to get to. Missy is such an awesome hairstylist and all around amazing person. I am always so beyond happy with my hair when I leave her chair. I am a blonde and I think blondes can be tricky to work with. Missy does her blonde literally to perfection. She’s does great boys hair cuts also. She’s the only person who can cut my son’s hair. We’ve gone to other places and had such horrible hair cuts and experiences.
