If I could give them a 0 star I would. I have lived in this area for the past 3 years. This store used to be a very nice store and I would go weekly. Over the past year the produce has gone down hill. Most of it will be rotten within a day or two. They have now decided to remodel the store and put in self-check out. They never have more than one employee running an actual cashier line. And myself included are annoyed because I can’t easily put a full cart of groceries through the little self checkout stations.
The past 5 to 10 times i have been in the store I have been annoyed by the ignorance of the staff, the lack of food availability and the expired food I am paying full price for and not realizing. Last evening was no exception and will be the last time I will going to that store. I was in the only cashier line with a full cart of groceries. The cashier had told me to tell customers behind me the line was closed.... this first of all is not my job and second there were 5 people behind me with huge carts. I told her this was not my job and that it’s not fair to expect all these people with huge carts to go through the self checkout. Disgusted by her pitiful attitude, I packed all my items back in my cart and went through self checkout myself. The manager came up to me to ask why I was upset and I told him he needed to get on a cashier register to help all the other poor people check out.
I work in customer service and if I treated my patients the way I was treat I would be fired. Short staffed or not, there is no excuse for the disrespect and ignorance I received by the Weis Staff. No worries on Weis’s part, you lost a customer last night and therefore should be able to manage your checkout lines a little easier.
I recommend shopping at Dutchway in Gap, PA. You will be respected and the produce and meat sales are...
Read morePharmacy selection for wound care was garbage. When my girlfriends' biopsy cut opened up after having her stiches remived, I went in here looking for steri-strips or butterfly strips to close the wound.
First off, the the only bandages they had were in the first aid isle: this seems obvious, but the first aid section was not in the pharmacy section - it was in another isle was not near the immediate vicinity of the pharmacy. This made it difficult to find. I had to ask the pharmacist for directions.
Which leads me to the next problem: the pharmacist could not have been any less help. I explained that I was looking for steri-strips strip or butterfly strips and the pharmacist simply said "if we have them, they're in the first aid section across the way." He didn't even know what they had available. That was frustrsting.
The most annoying thing is that after 10 minutes of searching the pharmacy area, and receiving minimal help from the pharmacist, I got to the first aid section - only to find that they had no steri-strips or butterfly strips. In fact, the only items they had were 6 types of crappy bandages that were not adequate for closing a small wound what so ever.
The only thing they had that could have been helpful was a roll of adhesive tape. So I bought this tape because there was truly nothing else there. And of course, the tape was not sticky enough to hold the wound closed at all. Threw that in the garbage and went over to longenecker's; that pharmacy was just 2 minutes away, and they had everything that a good pharmacy would have.
Moral of this story: don't come to this Weiss if you have to take care of an open wound. It's garbage. Go to longenecker's. They know what...
