Mattress Depot — Local services in Salisbury

One of the many reasons I'm writing this is because reading one of these previous reviews convinced my fiancee and I to shop here. And it was the best decision, truly. Having lived in the area for three years we had always driven past Mattress Depot. We never thought twice about it until we needed to upgrade our bed. We tend to read reviews to get an understanding of a place before deciding to go there and Mattress Depot (but more specifically, Al) had so many rave reviews. Upon entering the store, Al's energy, mixed with a sense of humor and friendliness immediately affirmed our choice. And it only got better from there.

Al was informative but hands-off—he gave us the info we needed, but gave us space to test out mattresses and decide for ourselves. And he was always ready for questions!

This level of customer service is rare—it’s drilled into any retail worker to do whatever it takes to make the sale. But Al wasn't just selling mattresses, he was connecting to us as people. We didn't feel like we were being sold to, we felt like we were visiting an old friend who happened to sell mattresses.

We ended up selecting a mattress that we hadn't even thought of because we had been given the space and time to try every single one.

Al went ABOVE AND BEYOND from here on out.

We were anxious buyers and wanted to make the right decision. A king-sized mattress is a big investment for a young couple. Al continued to be reassuring, he continued to be supportive, he continued to do whatever we needed in order for us to get what we wanted. He did it all with a sense of humor and a friendliness like we had known him for years.

I could honestly go on and on but if you have read up until this point, you may have already been convinced to go see Al at Mattress Depot. I wholeheartedly appreciate everything Al did for us. My family has been 'sleeping with' Mattress Depot for at least 20 years and we have always had great experiences doing business there. This week I went in to buy a new mattress set - I am getting married and wanted a king size bed set. I was so happy to see that the original family still owned the business. The owner, Al, is welcoming and helpful without making you feel that he is just trying to sell you a bed. He has decades of experience and knowledge in the industry - I think his dad may have owned the business - as it seems like he had been there for as long as i can remember. I felt very comfortable asking question after question and trying out mattress after mattress. I was there for hours and was still told to 'take my time' and try things as long as I would like to. I can't say enough about how nice it is to purchase something, especially a big ticket item, from a store owner who cares about your needs and is willing to explain even the smallest detail in order to help you make the best choice for you rather than the best 'sale' for the business. I feel really good about my purchase and am excited to have a new bed that brings both quality and comfort to my life. Mattress Depot is...

I didn't want to go to one of those "chain" mattress stores (which seem to be everywhere) because I like supporting local businesses and dislike the cookie-cutter feel of those big box retailers. So glad I made the drive to Mattress Depot in Salisbury, MA! I already had an idea of what I wanted but I have to say, Al was super helpful and showed me a few other options, without being pushy. I knew there was no chain store or online store that was going to beat his price either, because I had already done my homework. I was literally driving away within 10 minutes of entering the store with a new Gold Bond Futon Mattress folded in half in my back seat.
