I was over my friend's house down the street from the restaurant in Salisbury. He asked if I wanted to try Nick's Place. I said sure. Best decision of my life. When his uncle brought it in to us, I couldn't stop eating. I got the chicken tenders and thin fries and a small bacon and pepperoni pizza. Best food I've ever had. My grandma and I live in Newton NH and went there a week later for my birthday. I told them that I was getting it for my birthday meal. I think they slipped me an extra side of french fries. We went back a week later because my uncle wanted to order for everyone. We got food for 8 people so it came out pretty expensive... but it was so worth it. Everyone thought the food was amazing and they are not cheap, they give us a huge bag full with all the sauces and utensils and they give so much food with each order that we had food for the next 2 days. A little more expensive but you get better food and extra meals out of it? 100% worth it. They even offered to deliver it to us for free if we order that much even though we live quite far from them. One time my grandparents were on their way to pick up an order that we called in and they called the house phone and asked if we wanted them to deliver it to us since they didn't want it to get cold on us. I declined only because my grandparents were already on their way there. When they got there they brought the entire order out into the truck and gave us a free 2 liter soda. Then our most recent time going we went right after I got out of school and we ordered at the restaurant and they were starting to cook what we were ordering as we were ordering it! Then when the order was done, they asked what kind of 2 liter soda we wanted and my grandma said diet Pepsi at the same time I said Mtn Dew and they just said, here take them both for free! They also helped bring the order out to the truck. They have amazing food, they give you plenty of food, and the customer service is amazing. Best food I've ever had at any restaurant and best staff I've seen at any restaurant. The menu is loaded with so many different foods. They even got me to like seafood... and I've never liked seafood. This is now the only restaurant...
Read moreUnfortunately by far the worst experience, we’ve ever had tonight. We ordered food at 7pm. We were told it would be an hour. We said we would happily wait as we love the food. Food came at 8:48pm and cold. We weren’t happy so we called them and the only option we were given was for them to come pick the cold food back up. I said so nicely we get you are busy. We totally understand but you can’t bring cold food. No matter how long you want us to wait. We said we would microwave it but we obviously didn’t want to pay $50 to wait for hours for the food to be cold to then have to cook it ourselves. There was no communication or respect. I couldn’t get someone on the phone who would speak English which I’ve never had that problem before and I also couldn’t get someone who would talk to me about the issue. As you could probably guess that after waiting for two hours for food and it coming cold, being told they would come pick it up was a complete deal breaker. After waiting again for someone to come get the food 9:30 roles around and the guy comes to get the food. He starts to slowly go through the food. Mind you we both took slices of pizza and then when it was cold through it out. This guy starts to ask where those slices are. Then says he can’t give us our money back. Well you get the point of the incident that we went through. So save your money and order from someone who stands behind there food. Never did I think that the people i order from weekly would do this. ( yes, weekly, just not always delivery.) the owner made sure to tell me I’ve only had delivery from them 4 times in the last two months. Well I can tell you, you’ll never be delivering to us again and hopefully all of Newburyport will run...

My fiancé and I stopped at Nick’s Place on Friday, June 27th, before heading to Salisbury Beach. I was hungry, so I asked him to run in and order me a Jr. Beef with sauce and cheese, a small thin fry, and two sides of BBQ sauce.
As we drove to the beach, I opened the bag and realized there were two roast beef sandwiches inside. I immediately said, “Babe, they gave you two sandwiches,” knowing he doesn’t eat roast beef. Unfortunately, we were already late meeting friends and couldn’t turn back. We ended up giving the extra sandwich to a homeless person in need.
At the time, the charge on my fiancé’s card was $21.12, which aligned with what we expected. However, today June 30th, I noticed the charge said, “updated charge” updated to $32.86. This is incredibly disappointing. The additional sandwich was a mistake on Nick’s end, and it’s unfair to retroactively increase the charge without informing us.
Also, I’m not sure if it’s standard practice to serve fries without any salt, but mine had none at all. My 5-year-old wouldn’t eat them, and neither did I, so that part of the meal went to waste. I ordered the two sides of BBQ sauce to go with them, but even that couldn’t make up for the complete lack of flavor due to no seasoning.
We’ve been customers in the past, but this experience left a bad taste. Mistakes happen, but charging more days later without any notice is not acceptable. Unfortunately, we won’t...
