I am a regular customer at 23635 Wilderness Oak, San Antonio, TX 78258. I was purchasing groceries along with two bottles of wine on 7/22/2020. One that was put in the wrong spot with a price tag of $10.99. There were 7 bottles in this spot. (in a refrigerated area) I took a photo just in case it was rung up incorrectly. I noticed that those same 7 bottles were located somewhere else with a price tag of $17.99. I have been to other HEBs and other store for that matter where false advertising by mistake was honored per the error of whomever placed them there. As I got to the register, I asked the cashier if she could honor the price, she asked her Manager Thomas to come override. He looked at the photo I took, along with the price that was being rung up and said, "This is in the wrong spot, no we cannot." I said I understand it is in the wrong spot, I am simply asking if you can honor it because it wasn't just one bottle it was 7, as you can see in the photo. I've been to many stores including HEB, total wine, and if this happens they are happy to override because this." Thomas, the front of house manager replied with, "Well we aren't at total wine and that's fine but no I will not override it." His attitude and tone was completely uncalled for and EXTREMELY unprofessional. I took a photo of him and told him I was going to file a compliant. He told me, "You do that." He said all of this in front of my wife, my son, AND two other partners, the bagger and cashier. I was dumfounded at how he handled this. I told him he was out of line. As I left I called the store asked to speak to Al, the head store manager. He was no help. He went on to tell me he would talk to him but no apology from Al. Al asked me to call him later that night and he would talk to him. After speaking with Al I asked what Thomas his manager shared with him about the situation. Al told me that Thomas said he did actually in fact tell me that he could honor it. Which is a bold lie. If that were true I would of purchased the wine, along with not even be writing this email. If you read the recent reviews this store has had MULTIPLE complaints of the service they provide. I know for a fact this is not the mission that HEB follows. I have worked at HEB and I know what is expected of the partners. Not only that, at this pressing time of a pandemic, of taking the chance to leave my house to go get groceries being disrespected was not something on my list. I hope to hear from someone about this because this cannot go unnoticed. The management there needs a review because I know I am not the only one being mistreated. Just keep scrolling you will see the...
Read moreEvery time that I come to this location I tell myself it’ll be the last No one is really friendly (they seem tolerant), no one really seems to want to help but the absolute worst thing that digs under my skin is the baggers!…Ughhh And I can’t blame it one their age . It’s totally a lack of training and leadership And that goes beyond the managers…for the most part, they don’t seem to have much of a clue either. Customer service seems a thing of the past Common knowledge to not put heavy items on top of delicate items doesn’t even make a play in their thinking The Evan’s store is better but not by a whole lot If you want good service across the board (and I’m basing this solely on the stores that I’ve shopped at), Oak Park and Lincoln Heights (and maybe even the Austin Highway store) are at the other end of the spectrum! They’re old school. That area of SA is just inbred with social skills (ie good manners) The thought crosses my mind after every excursion to the Stone Oak area HEBs to come home and make note to not only leave the house next time with my HEB bags but to take insulated bags for cold items and a small ice chest for frozen items and make the trek back from whence I came and shop in the stores that remind me of why I love my HEB instead of writhing in fumes over my smashed avocados and bananas and berries spilled and smushed after being tossed in any which way (they actually put little stickers on them so they don’t open at the ‘09 and ‘17 stores (those are zip codes by the way…78209 and 78217) although they don’t really need to bc they place them flat, NOT sideways in the bags! I could go on and on and script a short story about the downfall and lack of skilled (trained) employees that HEB hires but I think you get my drift Wake up Wilderness Oak HEB and stop hiring, and promoting, every lackey that passes over your store’s threshold! I get in my car and literally scream every time I leave and curse the place the whole way...
