I wish I could give this restraunt the review it deserves but between multiple interactions with cooks who have no experience with customer service, and the lack of care provided for the meals they are trained for, I find ordering at this establishment VERY difficult. The first time I waited over 30mins for 1/4LB of brisket and 1 Brisket Loaded Baked potatoe after I had already placed the order online & driven to the store. The 2nd time, which sparked this review, was after my husband went to pick up our order & after being VERY specific about our order, our Brisket Nachos were made wrong and I had to go into the store to discuss what was wrong with my husband. Which the customer service provided at the front desk was the perfect response to an incorrect order. You acknowledge the customers concerns, you restate it back, and provide a solution that both parties can benefit from. However, after we sit and wait a cook comes out and begins directing questions ONLY at my husband and directly ignoring me while I am speaking directly to him. Furthermore, our food was still rushed and was not the best they could've made it. I enjoy the variety that true texas bbq provides and I will most likely still come to this location since its the only one within a good distance but I will go through my order taking with much...
Read moreI almost gave five stars but there were a few things that prevented that. My husband ordered the El Jefe, and it was very good, especially the brisket, but the sausage seemed a little under cooked and was difficult to bite through, so that made eating the sandwich unnecessarily messy. I ordered the Burnt End Mac and cheese sandwich. Again, the brisket, or burnt ends, were delicious melt in your mouth, but the Mac made it very sloppy and messy. If you get this one, best to have it cut in half. We also tried the creamed corn which was not that good. It wasn't very creamy and seemed kind of old. I did appreciate the pickles and onions, those pickles are so good, we buy them by the tub usually. That banana pudding though, oh my goodness. It was very creamy with pieces of real banana and wafers. Highly recommend you at least go here for the dessert. I'm still dreaming about that...
Read moreNot a good outcome. Slowly, HEB has changed the True Barbeque menu and the food is not good. All of the original side items have been removed or recipes changed and the food doesn't taste the same. HEB changed all of the cobbler recipes and now the peach cobbler is made with dough when it was originally made with a nice light fluffy cake. The cake version was the best. The new version has a lot of salt, which is yuck. HEB is slowly changing True barbecue food to instant grocery tasting food! We gave it another chance and bought food from them last week and the sides were just awful. I ordered a sandwich and was told that they could not add cheese? Weird, I'll pass and I will not be eating at this restaurant anymore. I was so surprised that I could not get my sandwich made to my liking. Dissapponted and miss the old menu and old recipes. I use to really like...
